Nokia :: 5800 Can't Acces Memory Card
When taking pictures with the 5800 I get the message (cannot acces memory card, phone memory used instead)
I change memory options to E: Memory card but still get the message when taking pics.I can access the card fine from phone file manager and through PC.
Have reformatted and tried second sd card.Games and some apps will not install on the sd card either but will on phones memory.

Nokia :: 5800 Doesn't Recognize Memory Card
after browsing in Opera Mini(5.2 beta), my 5800 froze and restarted. It no longer recognizes my memory card. On starting usb connection it tells me that i don't have a memory card in and PC-suite might not work as expected. I tried a soft-reset (*#7370#), but it still does not recognize the memory card. All applications saved on my memory card are no longer displayed. In file manager it tells me I have no memory card in. Of course I have ejected and inserted the memory card, but the initial problem started when my I was just browsing.

Nokia :: 5800 XM Memory Card Wouldn't Work
can somebody please guide me with what is going on with my cell phone i bought this phone two days ago and today when i took the memory card out and put it in again, it wouldn't work,the phone became very sluggish but when i took the card out it was fine Is it the phone or am i doing something wrong with it.

Totally new to this phone, with the option to download applications. Having great fun in doing so but not always given the option of where to save them to with the end result that they are saving to the phone memory which keeps filling up and then giving me an error message. Can anyone please tell me how to move apps from the phone memory to the card memory. And can anyone also tell me if I have an icon on the 'Menu' screen and the 'Apps' screen, does this mean the application has been downloaded twice and do I need both or can I delete one (presumably the 'Menu' one)?

I've got an n95 upgraded with latest firmware (v30.0.15) and Used a Sandisk 4G Micro SDHC card.It worked fine for a 2 weeks, but suddenly the phone got slow, and finally the memory got faulty, so that I couldn't read it even with a compatible memory reader! I have a few questions: 1- Is SDHC Compatible with N95 hardware and firmware? 2- Does a large capacity reduces the speed of the phone? 3- What is the maximum capacity compatible with N95?N95-1 v30.0.15

Nokia :: E72 Memory Store Unavailable / Can't Access Contents Of Memory Card
Have just been sent new E72 as my old one died (see my other post). All is well except when i connect to PC via USB cable and select 'Mass Storage' I get the message 'Memory Store Unavailable' on my phone and cannot access the contents of my memory card. I have the latest firmware on the phone. I can access the card through nokia PC Suite but that's a pain and I never had this problem before with my old E72.I'm running XP - if I go to my computer and double click 'Removable Disc (E' I just get the 'please insert disc into drive E' message.

Nokia :: 5800 Memory Card Not Working
After having this phone for more then half a year, I finally decided to post my complaints, now that my phone really stopped working properly. I'll bullet-point it in chronological order so as to make it clear, because there are too many problems I would like to share with you. 1. After I got the phone( firmware version 21.something), I very very liked it. When I compared it to my friend's 5800 phone (the first firmware version 11.something) though, mine didn't work really fluently. For example, when I press the button on the top of the screen, the bar just appears/disappears as opposed to nicely slides out/in as on my friend's phone. Same when closing/opening windows, mine just appears/disappears as opposed to the nice way it did on the other phone. This is of least of my concerns right now though. 2. Moreover, soon I found out how unstable the whole thing was. The phone kept freezing and crushing whenever I was using the internet or listening to music. I took special care not to install or copy any illegal stuff in it. The application folder took forever to load (all applications from Ovi store) and from time to time I got some really nasty crashes where the screen went black with some red line across it. This slowly led me to believe there was a virus in the phone. After downloading the anti-virus program no virus was detected, though................

Nokia :: 5800 - Memory Card Corrupted
I recently got a Nokia 5800 Music phone on contract, I've already had to get an exchange once because the battery was dodgy on it. I'm now having problems with my 8GB memory card, when I put it into the phone it said "Memory Card Corrupted", So I formatted it, as it had said to (lost all my music from it) And now it only shows up as 30MB, **bleep**? Also, when I take pictures and such, they're all showing up as corrupted (since they save straight to memory card) - I called up the company who I've got the contract phone from, and they really weren't any help.

Nokia :: 5800 Backing Up Memory Card To PC?
As I'm editing music files / installing apps to card, I'd like to do regular backups (5800 XPress Music).Can I just copy all the contents of the card over to "Backup" folder on PC harddrive (using phone in "storage" mode) ? If I then moved these over to a new card, would this be transparent to the phone?Or is there some fancy function of Ovi software that is needed to do this ?

During an OTA Ovi Store software update the phone froze with a white screen and all buttons including power button dead . Removed battery and reset gets past boot screen then message memory card full ( 16 GB so i dont think so at all ) Fails to connect im mass storage mode so i cannot format the card . *#7370# and attempt at 3 button trick got knowhere . Managed to format the memory card but it still refuses to connect via mass storage or PC Suite .After *#7370# Opening file manager results in a never ending opening message .Any further ideas before i take the memory card back to CPW ( who also sold the phone )

I have had my 5800 for going on 6 months now and have started to run into problems which i thin are being caused by the memory card. 1. The music player wil not start with the card inserted ( got an error about a corrupt database) 2. Unable to download files from the internet ( error message unable to downlaod file ...) 3. Data being lost on the memory card and having to format and re install all my data ( have done this once) i have also done a hard rest (red+green +camera).wondering if any of these problems have been seem befor and if you could sujest solutions

Nokia :: 5800 Memory Card Fault
I got my Nokia 5800 yesterday and have been downloading free stuff off ovi downloads on it. After downloading quite a few things I decided I'd got enough things after a bit the screen froze. I turned it off then back on but it kept freezing on the plain white screen with word nokia on it and wouldn't turn of or do anything so I had to remove the battery. I removed the memory card and tryed again and it came straight on and worked fine. I tryed again with memory card in and it froze again and came on fine when no memory card is in. I noticed a lot of what I downloaded must of gone onto memory card as not much of it is on my phone. Is there a way I can find out what I downloaded onto the memory card that caused the phone to freeze and remove it? Also is there a way to find out before downloading thingsif it is safe to download them or not to prevent this from happening again?

When I select Messaging -> Settings -> Other -> Memory -> [select memory card E]then it is OK for email messages but when I receive an SMS it issues an error 'Cannot access memory' and then it switches back to phone memory C, stres the message there and then opens is. This bug is still present in Firmware V4.0025. Is there a workaround for this?The reason is that 'Phone memory C' is still very precious as it is shared with the working memory (Symbian design flaw ?) so I do not use the C memory is possible.

i am facing a peculiar problem with my 5800.i hv firmware v21.Whenever i restart the phone with the sd card inserted (it has around 35+apps/games loaded but 4.3GB of memory is free) ;the phone hangs up at the "nokia" screen & i hv to remove the battery.on ejecting the card & then restarting; the phone starts up fine.on inserting the card later after the restart; it is read without any problems by the phone & all the apps. work fine.i do not hv any apps loaded for start up.i saw similar problems posted in some other topics for 5800;but could not get a clear idea whether this problem was occuring in other phones as well.Is it firmware related or due to large no. of apps on the phone?

I have a prob with my one week old (!) 5800 phone. Its 8GB memory card became invisible (file browser says- E: NO MEMORY CARD INSERTED) while I was browsing internet (on the screen suddenly appeared 'it is advised to choose Remove memory card first in phone menu, and then remove it' or smth like that).Now no formatting capabilities in phone menu. I have tried another Memory Card 1GB, Nokia made, and it is invisible too. My old Nokia E51i file manager can read both cards.The phone is ONE WEEK from an authorised Nokia shop, no damages, no fall.

I have a nokia 5800 and have set a memory card password, but it never asks me to enter it when i access files! How do i set my phone to ask for a password to access my sensitive files? I am using firmware v 21.0.025 which i installed wirelessly from the updates section of my handset.Also, is the lock code onlyusable after the phone is idle for a preset period or can i use it to lock certain ares of the phone? the guides are VERY vague.

Nokia 5800 :: 16Gb Card Memory Often Gets Corrupted?
I found out I'm not the only one with this problem so I thought I'd start a post here to try and bring some attention to the issue and get some idea of how widespread (or not) this problem is. The issue is to do with using a 16gb micro sdhc in a 5800 XM. The memory often gets corrupted, like after a few days of use, resulting in an inability to access the data on it through the phone's apps, eg, music won't show up, images/videos won't show up. The card will work ok in the PC, but not on the phone, the only way to fix it is to reformat the card, and obviously when you have about 10 gb of music and more of videos and images and apps it can become quite a problem.So please contribute if you have a solution or if you are also suffering from this problem.Nokia 3210, Nokia 7110, Nokia 6210, Nokia 8310, Nokia 3330, Nokia 3650, Panasonic X700, Nokia 6630, Sony Ericsson W810i, Nokia E61, Nokia E71, Nokia N95+8gb+4gb+2gb micro sd, Nokia 5800 UK Red +16gb micro sd.

I've had one frustrating experience with my phone and it continues to annoy me. Since the past 6 months that i'm using my nokia 5800, one problem reoccurs frequently. Data on my memory card gets deleted by itself every now and then. I lose videos, music and images primarily every time. The only option remaining then is to run a data recovery software on my memory card to restore to the lost data. This has happened 5 times in last 6 months and I have no clue why. I have seen many other complaining of the same problem in this forum but there's no solution. I hope to find on in this thread.
