Motorola :: Moto Phone Tools Alternative?
im currently using phone tolls for my moto pebl but i find it a bit to over the top with the many features it has, all i need the phone software to do is to transfer pictures/video onto my computer and save my phonebook from my SIM. are there other software alternatives out there that is perhaps leaner than phone tools?

Does the Motorola Phone Tools install a driver (Motorola Driver Install) when you install it or is that from MobilEdit? I tried MobiEdit and couldn't get it to recognize my phone so I ditched it. But i noticed the driver Install folder and don't know which program it belongs to.

Motorola :: V400 - Need Phone Tools V3.0
I've got an old Motorola V400 which has a number of photos on it that I want to download to my PC. I bought a usb cable online, but it didn't come with any software. I contacted AT&T first, they sent me to Motorola. They in turn referred me back to AT&T. The one thing I did get through the whole process is that I need MPT version 3.0, instead of the currently offered 5.0 (which does not support this phone). I've spent a lot of time searching online for this software, or anything that will work. I did try iXchange, but it could not detect my phone. Anybody have any suggestions? Honestly, I'd prefer a free download or a trial version, as I will only be using this one time. Once I get the photos off this phone, it will be recycled. I'll take any suggestions though. Anybody got a link for MPT 3.0?

Motorola Z9 :: Mobile Phone Tools
I have a new moto Z9 (love it!); I upgraded from a razr. I used MPT with my razr with no problems. For whatever reason, MPT will not recognize my Z9 - I have tried with blue tooth AND with usb. Just doesn't recognize the phone. During setup, the Z9 was not listed (Z9 or moto Z9). Can I select a phone close enough to the setup of my z9 to make it work? Am I just not seeing what I'm looking for? I am sort of lost. I can still access my SD mini card and move music, access files, etc. I'd really like to be able to access messaging, sync contacts, etc.

Motorola :: Phone Tools 4.0 Ringtone
when i try to create a ringtone mp3 file in melody studio and i press save to pc, it says failed to create file. When i press transfer to phone it says "unsupported format (mp3 codec may be inappropriate or missing)" what can i do to fix this? it will let me create the exact same tone in a .wav file but that does not allow for it to be a ringtone on the phone. is there an easy fix? the song files im using to make the clip are mp3 ones.

If I purchase Phone Tools, will it sync Outlook calendar and contacts from PC to V3xx phone? I just sold my Tilt and am going back to Razr and would like to be able to sync. Obviously, I will use sim card from Tilt, but I'm not 100% sure all contacts are on sim. In fact, while trying to copy from contacts to sim on Tilt, I received a message that sim is full!

Motorola :: Phone Tools Cannot Detect Z6
I tried searching but this came up:Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 17 bytes) in /var/www/forums/search.php on line 843 Anyways, I have installed version 4.0 of Motorola Phone Tools but it cannot detect my Motorola Z6 Phone. I think I have updated it but there's no way for me to check which version I updated to since there are no menus in the program if it hasn't detected the phone. When I start the program, a window pops up saying Update Error: Unknown Error. The next window asks if I'm connecting via USB, I select that option, and it attempts to detect my phone. Then it says that no phones were detected. Is there a driver that I have to install for my phone? I tried having it detect a second time and a window asks what port I will be using. There were three options, and two didn't work. I tried the third one and it asks what model Motorola I have. I looked under GSM for Z6 but it was not listed. Is MPT compatible with the Z6

I recently purchased a copy of MOT phone tools through EBAY becoz it didnt come free with the phone.I have received it, installed it, and then it tells me to plug in my phone and it will detect it.The thing is, it cannot find my phone.At first I thought it was becoz I was using Vista, so I tried on my desktop which is running XP and got the same problem.My last phone was sony ericson and it was alot easier.

I just got a Razr V3 and the phone tools isn't working right. I tried to transfer songs that I made to my phone and it goes through the entire process of putting it on the phone then the song is just not on the phone. It just never shows up on the my phone side of the phone tools. I also tried deleting songs and it says that I am unauthorized, but when I transfer that same song to the phone the song is deleted.

Will the 4.0 Motorola Phone Tools program work with my Cingular rzr V3? I have read conflicting stories. I am only wanting it to make my own ring tones and such. Thinking about buying it and wanted some opinions first. I have heard that the phone has to be unlocked from Cingular to work. I have been under contract for 1 year now and could probably call and get my phone unlocked (I am assuming). Is it hard to unlock? Will Cingular tell me how to do it?

Motorola :: RIZR Phone Tools Update?
My daughter is using my old RIZR phone. I have an old copy of Mobile Phone Tools (v 2.16) which used to copy contacts back and forth to the phone. I distinctly remember a few years ago I had to update this version before it would recognize the RIZR.I haven't used this software for a while but I wanted to install it to back up her contacts. It installed fine but when I went to update, it kept saying version is already up to date. Has BVRP stopped supporting this product? Unfortunately it does not recognize the phone in the current version nor can I read the contacts off the phone.

i have a new L2 and ive downloaded every driver under the sun and i downloaded motorola phone tools as well. The program spends a couple minutes saying its setting up the phone but then says it couldnt detect it. Nothing good goin on here.. anyone think they can lend me a helping hand?

I'm trying to add contacts on my phone through MPT, though there doesn't seem to be an option to add or edit the Category that I want the contact to be in. Is there any way to do this? Also, are there any other programs which are better for connecting my RAZR to my computer (that maybe have Bluetooth support also?)

Motorola :: Phone Tools Problem With KRZR?
I have Motorola Phone Tools, and after some work, I got my Verizon Wireless KRZR K1m working with it.However, the program doesn't show a multimedia option. I can use internet connection, text message, calendar,phonebook, and synchronization, but the icon for Multimedia isn't even on the program. Is this just because Verizon is cheap and doesn't want people putting multimedia on their phones? Or is it another problem? Anyone know a way around this?
