View 2 RepliesMy battery life on my droid turbo was awesome. I would end the day with around 30-45% left. With 5-6 hrs screen on time. I went on a trip and had to use the GPS so I plugged it in in the truck to my USB port.
View 4 Replies View RelatedFinally got around to sticking my SIM card into my 6P and decided to leave it off the charger over night to see how much battery percentage it would take away. I fell asleep with the battery at 55% and awoke with it around 30%. Looking at the battery usage, cell standby is consuming more of the battery than anything else. I've seen this bug in previous versions of Android, but have not heard anything about it with 6.0. Is my phone bad?
I'm on Verizon if that matters at all.
I called T-Mobile, they don't have any, I looked on the Moto store here, they don't list the cliq when looking for Accessories -> phone (the drop down does not have the cliq) so where would people in this forum look for a new battery for the cliq (Yes I still have and use the cliq, I love it, if I need a new feature I can eather just download it from the market or code it up myself)
View 2 Replies View RelatedCell standby is eating an average of 20% of my battery daily. I've done power cycle and reset.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I don't make many calls, my battery is used by cell standyby about 35-50%. It really drains the battery. Get about 15 hours with 3 hours screen time. How do I stop this high usage? I've done factory reset and wipe cache.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI’ve got a BlackBerry Curve 8900 (ATT, running 4.2.0.108), and have had it since Oct. 2009. Battery life has always been OK - 24 to 48 hrs. between recharges.
Today though, after pulling it off the charger this morning around 8:00 a.m., I’ve noticed that I’m down to about 5% charge by 2:30 p.m. I have made no phone calls today, and have only sent/received a couple texts and rec’d two emails. I've never used a holster, have downloaded no apps, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are both off. No keys appear to be sticking. Absolutely nothing, to my knowledge, of any significance has changed on the phone since October, yet all of a sudden --literally, overnight --I am experiencing this greatly diminished battery life. The only even remotely precipitating factor I can think of is that I did a battery pull yesterday, after deleting some old photos and emails.
I’ve searched the forum, and most of the suggestions are along the lines of “turn off bluetooth/wi-fi/update OS,” but as noted, I never used those anyhow, and the OS has always been good to me.
know the battery capacity of the XOOM (MZ601), mine is 3260mah Reason for the question is my xoom, replaced about a month ago used to give me 5 days life, now its 2 days, and thats just scraping in.... No SD card, same apps, same usage pattern
View 10 Replies View RelatedWhen I look at the battery usage the one thing that stands out is that the highest percentage of battery usage is "CELL STANDBY". This just should not be!The top of the list should be "Phone Idle" if the phone is not in use. I basicly left the phone unused today. Pulled it off the charger at 9am. Phone network set to CDMA only. WiFi off, GPS off, Bluetooth off. By 10pm my battery was down to 30% with 60% used by Cell Standby. In reading other forums, this seems to be the norm for this phone. But that doesnt make it acceptable. I have run the *228 option 2 from Verizon to update cell tower info. And my service is very good. Pretty much always 4 bars and never a dropped call.
View 15 Replies View RelatedMy Admiral does not seem to have the fantastic battery life I have heard these phones are supposed to have. Under normal usage It will not last a day without charging. I noticed that "cell Standby" is always the highest on battery usage. It's always above 25%, most times higher than that (30% to 40%). The area where I work has poor cell reception inside the buildings so I often go 25% to 50% without a signal (Sprint). Is there anything I could do to improve any of this? This is a work phone with a work email address conected to it. So I cant use an app that turns off syncing. Will keeping on wifi improve this? Seems wifi uses less power than cell standby.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got this phone from someone who upgraded up. If I only want to use it for calls and texting and nothing else, should I update from its current system version 1.6 / Firmware version 1.5?If I wanted to do this manually, are system and firmware updates done separately and where are the download pages to do it manually? There are threads talking about how updates slowed down CLIQ MB200 phones. Do they slow down the basic functions of this phone? I see there are Android platform versions all the way up to 3.2. Is version 2.1 the last version compatible with MB200?Some threads compare updating this phone to installing Windows 7 or Vista on older computers - they would slow down basic functions on them so it's really not worth it to update. Is that comparison true when it comes to this first Android phone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Cliq updated to 2.1.5 through T-mobile.Up until this weekend, I had no problem getting Data pushed through whether I was in my area or my boyfriends area (his is non 3G and he does NOT have WiFi) ...I was at his place this weekend, and my Data ONLY pushed through when I was in a WiFi area and I had WiFi enabled.he problem is, now that I'm home IN A 3G AREA my Data STILL only pushes through when WiFi is enabled. I get NO INTERNET CONNECTION at all.I can't even get my phone to be recognized through the Motorola Troubleshooter now when it IS plugged into my laptop via USB ....Hoping to avoid a reset, even though I have everything synched through my Blur acct and Gmail
View 4 Replies View RelatedI inherited a Cliq 2 from my father-in-law and I have a T-Mobile sim in it right now. When I look at the system version, it is saying 1.1.28. From all the info that I've read, the latest version is 1.1.30. I've tried doing a system update from the phone, but it tells me that I am up to date.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe screen has been cracked recently, so my brother took it upon himself to buy me a Cliq (MB200) from someone off CraigsList for my birthday. I am not sure if this is the route I would had gone but it's not like he can take it back now. Luckily it is a Cliq with a T-Mobile emblem on it, which is my carrier, so there shouldnt be any problems. And it appears to be in excellent condition.OK, time to transfer the SIM card.First, we cannot get the newly purchased Cliq to recgognize my SIM card. It is an old T-Mo SIM card that has been transferred from A Samsung T-719 purchased in 2007 to a BB Pearl to a BB Curve and then to the Cliq2 bought in 2011. I do have newer SIM cards that have never been opened or activated, so that could be an option. But the SIM works fine in my Cliq2. But in the newly purchased Cliq we immediately get the "Please insert SIM card" message on the screen.Yes, we did do a factory reset and then re-tested the SIM.Wi-Fi works. We were curious if the SIM Card can't be read until we go through the Motoblur registration. Also, can the Motoblur info just be transferred from the Cliq2 to the SIM Card or SD Card so I don't have to login on the newly purchased Cliq?I forgot my Motoblur password and it is registered with an inactive email address, so a password recovery via email is not an option. Should I just open a new Motoblur account? Will it let me connect the same emails and social media accounts as the old Motoblur account?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering whether Motorola make any improvements or optimize battery life with the ICS update on the Photon 4g while web browsing using a 3g connection. I'm referring to this review by anandtech which mentions that the "Photon's EVDO stack may not be all that power optimized".
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis weekend I did a long cycling tour with the MotoACTV and found out where the max battery life is for me. Without running any music, BT notifications off, and minimal screen usage, I got 8.5 hours of life (7 hours riding time) over 110 miles. There was just enough power to sync when I got home, and by the time I was in the shower, it was close to 0% an in the charger.I truly thought I was going to lose the last couple hours, but the device proved me wrong. Job well done. When I first did this with older software, I ran out of power at 5 hours. Software tweaks work!
View 1 Replies View RelatedUsually I unplug my phone in the morning. I use it for listening to music, a little bit of browsing and email. However lately it barely makes it until the evening. After approximately 12 hours the battery is almost dead and phone idle is the worst consumer by far (like 40-50%). Is that normal?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have noticed the battery on my defy+ goes down to 90% from full charge within an hour. This is my 3rd charge and I charged it for 3 hour for the first time like it said in the user manual. After it goes to 90% the battery holds good charge. It lasted me 12 hours with me playing around on it all night. Also I had my phone on for 2 days and I checked the phone up time in the settings and it said 55 mins. So I don't know if it has been rebooting itself maybe because of updates or a problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got this phone about 2 months ago. It worked fine until a couple weeks ago. The battery life went seriously downhill. At first, the battery would die and not charge. Then I got 2 replacement batteries, followed by the original battery. All three of them have a battery life of 5 hours. I turn off the wi-fi and kill all the apps, but the battery life still stays the same. When I checked the battery usage, it says that the phone idle time used up about half of the battery life. I know that android phones have short battery lives, but 5 hours is ridiculous.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn the past week, my battery life has gone down to about 5 hours from fully charged with little to no use. I checked my battery use and it shows that Cell Standby is at 61%. Time without a signal is indicated at 50%; even though I normally have 4 to 5 bars of 3G signal stength all the time.
I uninstalled several apps including anything I added in the last couple of weeks. No change. I did recently get an aftemarket Cellit USB car charger. Is it possible that I screwed up the battery by using this car charger?
I also checked my network settings as suggested in another thread here, and my phone was already set to "GSM Auto (PRL)"; which is supposed to give much better battery life.
Last night I unplugged my phone when I left work @5:30 with a full charge. I sent two SMS messages, was on the web for less than 5 minutes, turned wifi off and Sync off, had screen at dimmest setting. Phone still dies by 6AM with a brand new OEM battery. Should this be expected?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was part of the soak test, so the first 2 days were spent trying the new software out. So I didn't really put much thought into the fact that my battery was dying much faster. However, since there was really nothing earth shattering on the new update, the next 4 days were back to my normal usage patten. Normally, I would very seldom run my battery dead in a day. 30-40% was typical. But I have hit 10% every single day since the update.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy only concern is the battery. I'm not exactly what you would call a heavy user but usually look for about 3-4 hours screen time on an average. Mostly done by browsing the web, social media, A LOT of texting, a few YouTube videos and some Bluetooth streaming with my car AND my Moto 360.
So this things got a 3900 mah battery yet why does it feel closer to 2800. I understand that the device does have the higher resolution display and whatnot but do people not realize this thing has a 3900 MAH BATTERY?! Shouldn't that blow everything else out of the water? Like not even be close to any other phone. I switch between a Note 4 and the Turbo and I can get more screen on time with the Note 4 (5.5-6.5). Keep in the mind the Note 4 only has a 3250 battery (I think) and the same resolution display yet it's much larger. AND it runs touchwiz, something that destroys battery life.
i am basically getting with 3g settings on email updates every 1 hour 15-25 web pages and 10 Internet songs and a couple calls adding < 5 minutes .thats about the extent to which teh battery lasts for me. i end up having to charge at night definetly but sometimes even during mid day.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOne thing I was really hoping would change with the update was an improvement in battery life. I know it is too soon to tell -- and I'm playing with the phone more, so that has an impact -- but, if anything, I think I'm getting shorter battery life than I was before. Anyone else have any observations regarding battery life?
View 1 Replies View Relatedafter upgrading my Defy to 2.2.2 it runs 24h at most on its battery. It ran at least 2 days before the update. Now it usually runs out of battery after work. By then it was last charged 11-12 hours ago.I installed the OS Monitor from the market to check what is eating up my battery. Turns out that the "init" process starts eating up all free CPU resources after a while. The phones runs smoothly for about an hour or two after turning on. But as soon as the init process starts using the entire CPU, battery goes down very quickly.I did not install any new apps after the update besides the OS Monitor. So the apps have not changed. Still the battey dies very quickly. What can I do to get my phone back to its old charge cycle?
View 2 Replies View Relatedhow often some of these blur widgets are refreshing themselves. There doesn't seem to be a setting to set a refresh rate, and no matter if they are on the homescreen or not I notice that they are loading themselves into RAM anyway. For instance, social networking, weather, news, bookmarks widgets, etc are auto-loading into the RAM.So the question is, will it make any difference if I add the blur widgets to the homescreens or not? Would there be a performance/battery/ram difference if they were not on the homscreens? Could I get better battery life with or without the widgets, or does it make any difference so I might as well add them to the homescreens?I pretty much have OCD when it comes to trying to squeaze every last bit of performance out of my devices.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have noticed much shorter battery life after update to 3.1.
Nothing has changed in terms of battery consumption.
Gorilla Gadgets informed me that Motorola installed software into their phones to not recognize any battery not approved or sold be them. Motorola refuses to answer my questions regarding this. Does anyone know how to remove this software or how to get the Droid X to recognixe an extended life battery not made by motorola.
View 15 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else noticed a significant decrease in how long your MOTOACTV lasts on a charge? I can usually leave my device off the charger all weekend without it dying without using it. But this weekend I had to charge it 4 times just to keep it from turning off due to lack of battery charge. I am not using all the new Twitter or Facebook notifications and the Bluetooth on my phone was off all weekend too. I did notice that if I go to Wireless Settings my MOTOACTV shows connected to the Wifi hotspot
