View 7 Replies View RelatedI saw there's a post describing how to enable internet sharing for 1020 but one of the requirement is a foreign SIM card which I don't have.
My 1020 is a Hong Kong version got from eBay and it didn't come with a SIM. I called T-Mobile but they said since it's not from their store, it may not work, they tried to do something on their end but couldn't make it work.
On my Nokia Lumia 1320, I am unable to connect to my Wi-Fi. It says "Your Phone Won't be able to connect to the internet provided by this network". My phone is able to connect to the other Wi-Fi and other phones are able to connect through my Wi-Fi.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got the Tango update. However, still no Internet sharing.
My Phone is a Lumia 800. My provider here in Austria is A1. However, I should emphasize that the phone is not carrier branded and that my HTC Trophy that is indeed simlocked to A1 did get Internet sharing back when Mango became available.
OS version is 7.10.8773.98
Firmware is still 1600.2487.8107.12070
I just picked up the new Lumia 920 from the Microsoft store in Canada. The phone was locked to Rogers and I was required to unlock in order to use it with Telus. I entered all the required APN settings to use Telus data but I still cannot get Internet Sharing to work. I'm having the same issue with MMS as well.
How can I get these features to work? This is a game changer and it's making regret switching to Windows Phone...
Truthfully I dont know if it's Nokia to blame or Rogers or Microsoft but this Internet Sharing and MMS issue has created a really poor Windows Phone experinece for me. Someone really needs to step up to the plate and address this.
I am having Nokia Lumia 710 with Vodafone(India) 2G activated. I have updated my phone to latest firmware and OS and got hte Internet sharing option in my settings tab, But even then I am unable to share internet.
Others are able to connect to my network if I share but when they try to browse internet, none of the internet pages are opening. Then I have tried to share my internet to my laptop(Windows 7 OS). I was able to connect but I was unable to surf anything.
I turn on Internet sharing on the phone. I connect my MacBook Pro mid 2012 to the phone by WiFi. Now you normally have an Internet connection on your laptop through your phone.
In my case the WiFi connection from my laptop to the Lumia keeps disconnecting after just some tens of seconds. This has happened on 2 different Lumia 920 phones used on 2 different MacBook Pros and an iPad.
This is NOT carrier related. I have already gone through this with my carrier (Elisa).
I just got the Lumia Icon and I've observed a problem with the Internet Sharing that is preventing me from using VPN. What seems to be occurring is that the outside IP address for the Verizon service changes very frequently, and happens as soon as the VPN software creates an isakmp sa, but cannot create an ipsec sa because the VPN end point sees the same sa, but the peer (IP) does not match, so the SA association fails and is removed. It's almost as though something on the phone is being reset when it sees that type of traffic.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Lumia 900, and right now I'm stuck with the no-data bug. I'm in Canada, and we don't have the update yet.
I've never been able to get the Internet Sharing to work. I don't know if this is related to the same data bug. I've read where other people have had the same problem. So to be clear, is there anyone that has the updated software and the data bug fixed, but isn't able to use the Internet Sharing?
When i try to use Internet Sharing, it says 'Connections not shared - There's no mobile data connection to share at the moment. Check Your mobile setttings and signal, and try again.' In my mobile, mobile internet is working in all the browsers and i was able to install all the apps using mobile internet. but still it throws an error mentioned above, when i try to use Internet Sharing.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI have a Lumia 900 in the US. It was only sold by ATT in the US. I however am not with ATT, I'm with Straight Talk, an MVNO. When I try to enable Internet Sharing on the phone it pops up a message saying I need to contact ATT. I have no business relationship with ATT and they cannot help me. I would like to remove this message so I can get Internet Sharing working on my phone. The phone is unlocked, but that didn't seem to make the message go away.
View 5 Replies View RelatedInternet sharing does not work. I've tried the spanish keyboard thing, it does nothing. I can tether using the same SIM on my iPhone 4. I've been tethering with it for 2 years. I have seen many other reports of this issue on the internet. How long until Nokia acknowledges it?
View 8 Replies View Relatedmy Lumia 920 has problems with internet sharing. It will work for a couple of minutes. And then it will not work. It won't work again till I reset the phone. After a reset. It will only work for a couple of minutes. I called att support and they told me I probably have a bad phone and to bring it back. Does anyone else have issues with internet sharing? I tried some stuff I found on the internet to fix this. Downloaded the Spanish language keyboards. To no avail.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI upgraded from WP 7.8 and am sure I could see the names of the devices connected to my phone via tethering..
WP8 only shows the number of devices connected and not the names..
(Reason I ask is that I had shared my tethering password with a bunch of guys at work but can't tell who is connected)
I just got the L1520... What I would like to do is place an icon on the start to toggle the internet sharing on my L1520, its a pain in the arse to always goto the settings then scroll down to internet sharing and toggle it... is there an app that places an icon on the start? so it's just a 1 button push to toggle?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using Lumia 710 since 3 months. Even though the initial experience was good now I'm facing a serious signal problem with the phone. We recently moved to a high-rise building where the signal is weak inside the rooms. If the phone looses the signal it doesn't pick-up the signal even though network is available. This is causing a serious a trouble to me as I don't receive or make calls during the period. I either need to switch-off and switch-on again or I need to turn-on and turn-off flight mode for the phone to pick up the signal. Sometime even though the signal shows 3/4 bars I won't be able to make/receive the calls. I'm also facing a issue with Internet sharing option. Even though devices are able to connect they are not able to use the internet/data from phone. I was using the same SIM with other phone of different make and it was working pretty fine. I rely a lot on internet sharing option and now I can't even swap my SIM with old phone as Lumia uses micro SIM.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to disable the auto switch off of the auto switch off feature of the Internet Sharing on the Lumia 710?The reason I ask, is that I want to set this up as my main Internet connection at home using the Three UK One Plan Unlimited Data plan with the phone linked via Internet Shaing to a range extender which all my family can then connect to but the Internet Sharing keeps switching off after a few minutes of inactivity.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi just updated my lumia 1520 to WP 8.1 and it worked perfectly. However, when i tried to factory reset my phone to change region and make Cortana work (before the factory reset i cannot open cortana even when i change region), suddenly the access point and internet sharing didn't work anymore, the operator always show inactive. Moreover, on the top of the screen next to the operator and wifi icon it has a sim tray icon. I've tried couple ways such as restart the phone, update or reinstall the access point but it doesn't fix the issue.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using an unlocked ATT 1020 on Tmobile and when I enabled internet sharing, it would tell me to call 611 and request the feature from ATT. But if I disabled LTE, tethering would work and then I could re-enable it. Now, with cyan, the phone recognizes that it's going through tmobile, but states that I don't have the mobile hotspot service (I do have it) and takes me to a message to upgrade my plan. When I click upgrade, it takes me to a page to call Tmobile. Upon calling them, after dealing with someone who swore my plan didn't include tethering (it certainly does), I got transferred to someone else.
After some steps and some research on their side, I was told that the only thing that made sense was that when I changed my plan to a higher data plan (recently, where I was assured nothing would change except the amount of data), the system saw that my phone was not a Tmobile one and kicked tethering off. She stated that there was no way to manually re-add it because it just kicks it off again. For the record, all of the other phones on my plan still work with tethering (one other phone is a non-tmobile iphone). Also, a friend of mine has a 1520.3 on the same plan and cyan actually made internet sharing work when it wasn't working before. So confused and frustrated.
I don't know if this was actually something cyan changed or if it really was the plan change, because I believe the last time I tried internet sharing was before both changes. I want to try my sim card in a pre-cyan, non-tmobile WP and see what happens.
I have a Rogers-branded Lumia 1020 (RM-877_nam_canada_234) pentaband, unlocked and running on Wind Mobile (an AWS 3G carrier). Everything works great. I just got it, SIM-unlocked it, and started updating... the most recent update was to OS version 8.0.10521.155.
Whenever I try to turn on Internet Sharing, it tries for a few seconds, and then gives error "Connection not shared. There's no cellular data connection to share right now. Check your cellular settings and signal, and try again."
Yes, I've installed Nokia Access Point and activated the APN.
So got the Tmobile 810. Have been using unlocked Nokia phones (Symbian) till now and use JoikuSpot to share internet on as needed basis. Not very often, but good to know it is there when needed.
Now when select Internet Sharing to ON, asks if want to activate that feature in my plan. Is there anyway to bypass this or to get another app to do this .. like JoikuSpot ?
I have a rooted HTC Hero and I've previously used my phone's internet sharing mode succesfully but now it won't work. I called Sprint and they said they no longer support phone as modem but I luckily spoke to a tech that told me it is possibly and told me to ask around about how to get it to work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from a Lumia 521 to a Lumia 1320 last week. I can't run Windows Phone 8.1 DP on my new 1320. Apparently it's something to do with Cricket Wireless. WP 8.1 DP will install, but then it's frequent crash/restart loops. On my Lumia 521, there was a setting to enable pushing store apps/updates from Windows Phone Store in IE 11 on my Windows 8.1 Pro x64 pc to my phone.
I can't remember where the setting was in Windows Phone 8.1 for enabling this. Also, on my Lumia 521 in the Lock Screen settings, I could set the time to never, 30 minutes, 15 minutes. 5 minutes, 3 minutes or 1 minute. On my Lumia 1320 the settings are only 1 minute, 3 minutes or 5 minutes. Is there a way to get the old settings for this back ? The 30 minutes or never is useful for updates or backups. The 5 minute crap stinks.
yesterday ı got an update for my lumia 1320 but update bar not moving it is zero for the past 3 or 4 hours ? what can ı do ? ı cant use nokia software recovery becouse my pc is vista and vista doesnt support that program
