LG :: Vx8300 Hidden Menu Unlock / May Work On Other Models?
Mar 21, 2009
before i get started, let me say that im on the verizon network. if your on any other, i cant tell you if this will work or not, but i doubt it can hurt to try. I AM BY FAR NO EXPERT THOUGH, SO TRY ANY OF THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! I CAN NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR THE RESULTS.after spending a night breaking down my phone and cross referencing other models, I figured out how to hack the v4 software far enough to get to the hidden menu and the super popular wap proxy settings. I know now that it shouldnt take a night to do it, but i had never even looked into cell phone technology prior to this, so i had to learn a bit.
the reason i say it may work on other models, is i tried changing the model number on the vx8500 hidden menu access code to my vx8300 model. it worked, so im guessing it may work on other lg models. just replace the "8300" with whatever model # you have.first, you still need bitpim to open the file system, and xvi32 to edit the hex files, but the main change was accessing the hidden menu. from the main screen (the one that you see when you open the phone) type ##program8300 and hit <send> as if it was a number you were trying to call. "???????" comes up. type seven zeros (0000000) and viola! hidden menu.
im not sure yet what all the options do, but if you reset the browser (8,7) it seems to erase all your edited browser info and proxy info, as well as resetting the 3rd hex in the paramtable1.fil file.this isnt supposed to be a step by step walk through, so if you cant figure out how to use this info, you really need to keep reading articles. keep in mind that 24 hours ago, i didnt even know what "brew" or a "wap proxy" was. what it IS intended for, is to open up the hidden menu, which since v4 of the firmware came out, seemed to be inaccessible. hope this helps anyone still using this phone.
In the past I've done many small hacks from Bitpim, to the hopke free wap proxy whatever. The bluetooth radio as well as picture messaging was no longer working on my 8300, so I took it in, they swapped it out for a brand new one. But, now I find that Menu "0" no longer works! Is there any remedy? Work around?!I searched all over... Can't find anything out.
So, we know we can't make games because BREW has us locked down, but poking around with BitPim in the menu themes section reveals a SWF file for the Pulse theme that comes on the phone. My question is, would it be possible to modify that file or make a new one to create:
a) New skins for the menu b) Simple games, where the animation changes when you move up, down, left and right in the menu.
I could see the possibility of at least getting breakout working in the menu itself. Glide the paddle up when the user moves up in the menu, glide it down when they move down.I'm very curious to see what people who are familiar with making flash games have to say about this. As far as I can search, it seems like no one has tried this yet.
Does anyone know what the unlock code is for the new software versions of the Verizon vx8300? I have 2 phones and the unlock code works on the v03, but not on the v04. I am refferring to the menu, 0000000 unlock code.
I found 3 hidden menu's that I haven't found posted on here so I'll go ahead and let you guys know where they are.
1: OK, Left or Directional Key till you highlight Messages, * This asks for a Lock Code. (No further testing done as to not fubar my phone.).
2: OK, Left or Right Directional Key till you highlight Browser Settings, * Enter the last 4 of your phone number or your lock code. This brings up the Primary DNS, Secondary DNS, Proxy address, and Common Settings
3. OK, Left or Right Directional Key till you highlight settings, #, then 000000 for the code, and System Info screen is visable. Show the Debug Screen, Test Calls, Voice SO, Port Map, Throughput Test, Bluetooth, Force Mode, DUN Mode, and Security. (edit: pushing the # in this menu asks for a 10 Digit User Lock Code)
Does anyone know if there's a code to the hidden menu on V750? I would like to change the network mode from EV-DO,1x to 1x. I did this from my hidden menu on my LG 8300 and got about five times more battery life
I played with the settings in het hidden menu on the d900.you can enter it with the code: *#8999*8378#.But i'm not sure what effects these settings have. Somebody know's more? If you don't know what these Codes or Settings will do, don't mess with them. Before changing any of these Settings in the Hidden Menus, write down what the Default settings are so you can change them back. If you don't, you'll only cause more problems than what you were trying to fix in the first place.
I have a problem with my BlackBerry BOLD 9000 v188.8.131.529 (Platform 184.108.40.206). The lock is "deleted" not "Hidden" from my menu LOCK PICTURE: and when i keep pressing on A key the telephone will lock but when i press any key after it locks, message appears which says that i have to click on mute key to unlock but when i click on the mute key it doesn't unlock. I deleted the password and I still have the same problem.
well I searched forum but found no answer. My VX8300's MP3 doesn't work, when I press play button it tells me "no application" ,and when I enter the hidden menu, the mp3 setting said "not available".well , I'm now not using Verizon's Network, does this matter?
A couple of times now I have pulled my phone out of my pocket to see a weird menu with gears as icons, and I haven't been paying attention. It appears like the contact menu, but different. What is going on to get to that menu? It may be a debug-like menu or something.
Okay so I know this is a very commonly discussed issue, but I have yet to find a simple solution. I currently have a verizon lgvx8300 which i have wanted to sync with my mac for months. I am going to be getting an env2 when it comes out in a few weeks, but im sure the process will be similar. I have seen a ton off apps online and a ton of different mac-lg sync methods all around the net, and none work perfectly. I have tried bitpim and not only does it not work with my phone, it is too time consuming to be a good solution for me. I'd just like to have my calender synced up with ical. What is the easiest way to do this?
Are there any apps that would work well/simple? I dont mind buying it whatever it is.Please help me out. I am in no way illiterate when it comes to mac or phone stuff haha i just cant get this dang thing figured out.
I had most items on the Applications Menu hidden, and sorted the way I like them, but for some reason, they sometimes are all restored to their original non-hidden version. This happens 2-3 times per week, and is getting kind of frustrating. What am I doing wrong? (FYI, I'm not messing with the battery, as I've seen in some other threads.)
i can no longer get my phone to work with my computer via USB cable. It says the device has malfunctioned. I can semi get it to work with blue tooth and bitpim but I cant detect the phone, i can transfer contacts and such though. I need to access my pictures, anyone know how? Or what would be wrong with it via usb
I just bought a VX8300 and was all ready to transfer over my contacts with the DataPilot Universal Kit I purchased about 22 months ago.I still have the OEM DataPilot box and do not see the VX8300 listed in the documentation. The data cable which came with the kit is currently at my parents house (not local) and I do not know if it fits the VX8300 or not (I have read where some people shave/file the older VX connectors, but unsure if doing this would still enable support of the features of the VX8300 which I want to use).
All I want to be able to do is: Transfer my contacts from the VX6100 to the VX8300.Backup my contacts on the VX8300 onto my PC from time to time.Transfer pics and video clips from the VX8300 to my PC.From what I can tell on DataPilot's site, I need to purchase the DataPilot LG USB Kit #5 for the VX8300 another $50 expense I had not planned for. So much for the 'universal kit' - seems like it's a waste of money to buy their univeral kit, as cell phones change more rapidly than the phones supported by their kits (I get a new phone every 22-24 months).
Are there other, significantly cheaper, alternatives which don't require spending hours to get drivers to work? I'm looking for something plug and play, or close to it.Am computer literate, but don't want to spend hours getting a setup which accomplishes what I want to do too much of a hassle for me.As far as the bluetooth, I only plan on using that with a headset, nothing else.
I know this going to sound really silly but how does updating the OS work on an 8330 or 83xx models.
I dont know whether to buy the 8330 or 8900. So does it update it so the software looks the same as like 8900?Or what is the highest OS you have upgraded to and what does it look like or do.I know i prolly sound abit sill asking but I dont really get the O.S bit
I need help with unlocking the wap setting on the env3 ( it is greyed out / no edit button) as i use page plus as my carrier and need to change the wap to there proxy/wap settings to use mobile web.can any body tell me how to do this or least point me in the right direction
ive debranded my phone using wotan, but how do i make it gsm unlcoekd so that i can use it overseas?as well, how do i use s500i flash menu on the w580 or are there any menu theme that has the horizontal scrolling style that works on w580? srry if this has been posted, my search result returned nothing.
It seems the "Escape Button" will lose it marbles and think it is the "Switch Application" button (like you are hold BB button down for several seconds). This seems to always happen after I unlock the phone. It would be working correctly before the phone had become locked.Basically pressing the "Escape Button" will bring up the switch application display. I have found no way to correct this problem other than resetting (battery pull) the BB (a power cycle does not help). If your BB is locked the way to tell this has happened is that the escape button will not bring up the "Unlock" menu.
-Your carrier:Verizon -Model info and OS version:Blackberry Bold 9930 7.0 Bundle 1341 (220.127.116.11/18.104.22.1689) -Apps and free space -File free before and after a battery remove/replace. 156.1MB Free -Did a battery pull fix your issue?
I'm having a problem with my phone security. I unfortunately forgot the required pattern to unlock my phone and now it's isn't recognising my answer to the security code question. Is there any means to restart the phone or get access to phone menu again ??
