IPhone :: Stuck In Recovery Mode / ITunes Won't Recognize While In Recovery Mode
My iPhone is stuck in recovery mode. I know how to restore it in iTunes but my only problem is iTunes won't recognize it while it's in recovery mode. I've had no problems when it was out of recovery mode, iTunes recognized it perfectly. Can you please explain how I can get iTunes to recognize my iPhone again while in recovery mode?

I've already tried this method but iTunes still didn't recognize it.Hold the Home+Power buttons for 10 seconds, until Apple logo appears, and the release the Power button while holding the Home button until iTunes recognizes it.

IPhone :: Jailbreak Stalls Waiting To Enter Recovery Mode
I'm a new iPhone user, but was able to jailbreak my iPhone without much trouble. I then showed a buddy. He of course wanted to do it also, but when i tried helping him we can't get it done.He has the iPhone 3G (8GB) with the 2.2 firmware (same as mine). He has had the phone for a while, but updates regularly with iTunes.I'm using the same quickpwn 2.2 Windows file (DL'ed from www.quickpwn.com) I used, but quickpwn stalls when we try and jailbreak his phone. Here's the steps we've taken so far:

1.) First time I tried to jailbreak it, I was stuck on the first quickpwn screen where quickpwn was not detecting the iphone at all (or at least the iPhones' firmware)

2.) I then followed a suggestion to download the actual 2.2 firmware file and manually point quickpwn to that file. This did get me passed the first screen of quickpwn where it was trying to detect my buddy's firmware.

3.) Then quickpwn just stalled on the next screen where it tried to get the phone in recovery mode. At this point, Quickpwn does put the phone into recovery mode, but quickpwn doesn't seem to detect that it is in fact in recovery mode and never moves on to the next step of instructing me to put the iPhone in DFU mode.

So it seems from my newbie take on this, that the quickpwn program isn't communicating correctly with the iPhone. It doesn't automatically detect my phone's firmware and then doesn't detect that the phone is in recovery mode when in fact it is. So, how can I get the quickpwn program to communicate correctly with my phone so I can complete the jailbreak process?

To be clear, step 10 in this tutorial is where quickpwn stalls on me:URL...I never get passed the:"Wait for your iPhone to connect in recovery mode..."

IPhone :: Stuck In Recovery Mode
The update failed for me. My phone is totally useless at the moment. The screen displays a connector pointing to iTunes. Every time I try to update it I get a message that my iPhone is in a recovery mode. Upon the software "preparing" my iPhone for the update I get the failed message with an error code of 2003 or 2001 or 2005 or, on occassion (6). The technical folks tell me the Apple server is the problem.

IPhone :: 4 Stuck On Recovery Mode
I just got my iPhone 3 days ago! (Saturday) I went over to my cousin's house to add some songs. When I connected the USB cable to his computer and my iPhone it went straight into recovery mode. I thought it was his computer so I went home to my computer and the same problem occurred! I searched everywhere to try to solve this issue. I even downloaded some stuff that supposily forces iDevices out of recovery mode but nothing worked. I also tried holding the 2 buttons and bam, nothing. Please, anyone with a solution, please help me.update Whenever I try to restore, I get an error message. It happens for firmware 4.0,4.01, and 4.0.2. (My iPhone 4 came with firmware 4.0.2)

IPhone :: Stuck In Recovery Mode 1.0.2
I have a launch day iPhone here in 1.0.2, normal baseband, normal IMEI, but stuck in Recovery Mode. I've tried quite a few combinations of iTunes software and iPhone software restores, but none have worked. I can't even do a straight update to 1.1.3, since it's "recovering."

IPhone :: 2G Stuck On Recovery Mode
I just bought a 8gb iPhone 2g from a member on this site. This is my first iPhone so I'm not up to date with all the stuff on it. It needed a new battery.I got it but it wouldn't turn on, just would show the charging screen with 1 red bar when connected via USB. I have since removed the battery but when I go to turn it on, it shows the itunes with USB cable on it and I open up iTunes and try to do a update and restore, it always fails.

I've been googling and trying everything I could find for the last few hours with no luck.I have the battery removed now as the one I purchased seems to be defective so I don't get the charging status screen anymore.

IPhone :: 3GS Stuck In Recovery Mode?
When loading iTunes this morning an update that I had been putting off popped up and I figured since I was going to be in the house for a while I'd finally do it. An error took place that I foolishly ignored and made no note of.

My iPhone is now stuck in Recovery mode (I assume so anyway, after having googles my problem for hours), iTunes tells me I need to restore the phone and so I click to allow it to. It then gets to the "Preparing iPhone for restore" and just sits there, doing nothing.

IPhone :: 4 Is Stuck In Recovery Mode?
After my daughter dropped my phone on the floor (surprisingly the screen didn't crack), the screen went black and I could not turn the phone back on. This was not the first time that this happened to me and I fixed it by plugging it in to my car charger. I tried that this time and it did come back on but the place where my signal strength bars should be said 'searching'. After a short while, a message came up saying that my phone needed to be restored and to connect it to iTunes.

My phone would not come on unless it was plugged into a charger, other than that the screen was black (and still does that). The apple screen will show and then the usb cord connecting to iTunes symbol comes up and it will go passed that screen.

I connected to iTunes, and found out that my phone was in recovery mode and needed to be restored. I tried to restore several times and the same thing happens. iTunes will begin the process (extracting files first) after that part is complete and iTunes starts the next step of preparing the phone for restoring, my phone will go black as if it shut off and then the apple screen comes on and then the usb cord connecting to iTunes shows up and then iTunes delivers the error21 code. I've tried pressing the home button and lock button at the same time for seconds and then holding the home button blah blah but it does me no good because I can't get my phone to do anything unless its connected to a charger or the computer.

IPhone :: 4 Stuck In Recovery Mode?
My phone has been stuck for two weeks. I am not covered by Apple therefore they won't do anything, but sell me a brand new phone. If I could afford one, I would bypass them and just upgrade. Unfortunately, I am not capable at this time. I have tried everything provided by the "help" on iTunes. I get ERROR CODE: 21 every time it goes to try to recover. I tried doing everything it said to help fix this error, but nothing works.

IPhone :: 3gS - 32G Stuck In Recovery Mode After 3.0.1 Update
I thought it would not be so harmful to update my iPhone that i purchased just last month to the new firmware and all was going fine until it was restarting the iPhone. After installing the new firmware and the **** thing got locked in recovery mode. Now heres the kicker, iTunes doesn't show any information on the iPhone other than its in recovery mode and needs to be restored. I have tried restoring it as frustrated as i was that i would probably loose memorable photos BUT the iPhone will unmount its self in the middle of downloading the update and it still is trying to restore using the 3.0.1 firmware. Even after the sixth time downloading the firmware iTunes will not restore the phone. And now my computer is just not recognizing the phone. I am ****** off as it is, and cant find anyone with this problem. Running: Windows Vista 64-bit with iTunes: 8.2.1.6 (Supposedly for Vista 64bit) Note: Everything was fine until this update...I'm calling Apple at 6am...this is ridiculous.

IPhone :: Phone Stuck In Recovery Mode
Like the idiot I am, I decided to upgrade the software of my iPhone to the 4.0 version. I first had to download the most recent version of iTunes no problem there. When I tried to download the new iPhone software everything froze up. It went through "Extracting Software" then "Verifying iPhone Restore With Apple" then "Preparing iPhone For Restore" and a bunch of other little screens. When it got to "Restoring iPhone Software" it froze status bar on the computer got almost all the way to the end and the status bar on the iPhone got about 1/3 of the way across. It stayed like that for about 10 hours. I unplugged the phone from the computer, shut it down, and when I turned it back on it has a photo of a USB and an arrow pointing to an iTunes thumbnail.I plugged the phone back into iTunes and I got a message saying the phone is in "Recovery Mode" and it instructs me to do a "Restore." When I click the "Restore" button it goes through all the same stuff, with the same result freezes up at the same place as it did before.I've tried this about 8 times now with the same result. My iPhone is now unusable. Were I in the U.S. I would take it to the store and demand a refund (it's only about 5 days old). However, I'm in Afghanistan and so I can't do much about it.Can anyone help me out? Is there any way I can get my phone working again would be nice to be able to talk to my family again.

IPhone :: Getting Error (21) Stuck In Recovery Mode
Ok so I followed the steps on various web pages and on the forum in order to upgrade to 2.2 and jailbreak. Everything in pwnagetool 2.2 was going well put it in expert mode, booted it up to 1000, built the ipsw. Restored phone, put it into recovery mode, option clicked "restore" selected ipsw built from pwnage and it starts up then, "iphone could not be restored an unknown error (21) occured" rebuilt the ipsw twice now and still the same thing. I don't know what else to do I am stuck and desperate for a solution.

IPhone :: Handset Stuck In Recovery Mode
I've got a 3GS which was 3.1.3. I had to restore because a few apps wouldnt load properly. When I restore and it finishes it comes up with the itunes & cable screen and iTunes says its in recovery mode (error 1015) and i must restore it - again.I've tried a couple of things including irecovery but my PC is a win7 64bit system and it kind of killed off all my USB ports. I've tried on a Vista Machine and also tried on iTunes 9.1 and the new Beta.

Will Apple sort it out? Will they send it off or replace it if they cant get it working again? It's only got a few days left on the warranty

then I decided to restore back to the old version, since 2.1 obviously isn't working. Halfway through "preparing for itunes restore," it says that there "Iphone could not be restored. unknown error occurred".

I did so, and after the thirty-minute software update, it was now returned to the connect to iTunes screen and is giving me the same message upon connecting to iTunes.
