IPhone :: No Sound Alert On Receiving New SMS On New 3G
Jul 22, 2008
I just got my new IPhone 3g today, and the first hour it worked great. But after I got home I started changing the ringtones and text message tone. But I must of done something wrong because now the IPhone wont make a noise when a get a text message, or when i type on the keyboard or press the sleep/wake button, the phone isn,t on silent i tried flipping the switch several times.
good day! i've just updated my phone to this version but the problem what i notice is that when someone sends a text to me there's no sound at all..i've already tried to reset to factory default settings and change every profile but it seems that it still keeps me giving the same problem..what should i do now? its really annoying since i don't know if someone would text me..
the incoming call alert is not working.... no sound comes during an incoming call I checked and the phone is not in silent or vibration mode. the ringtone works when i select one but no sound durinh an incoming call.
I have an 8330 and i have setup the alert tone for voicemail and the alert is perfect when i receive a voicemail. The message shows up saying that i have a new vmail and the alert sounds. But, check this out...here is my practical problem:If I do not have the bberry directly on my person at the exact moment that a vmail arrives, and i am not right there to hear the alert, then it's over. The tone never sounds again after that. This kind of defeats the purpose of the alert tone, cuz if the phone rings and the bberry is on my person, then i would just ANSWER the call and not let it go to vmail. But if I walk away from my bberry for 5 minutes, and have missed the alert tone, i would have to look at the messages to see if there is a new one telling me that i have a NEW unheard vmail.
So, is there any way to configure the vmail alert tone to CONTINUE to sound, until I RESPOND by reading the message? EVERY other PDA (always had verizon and still do) i have had in the past, would do this. The alert tone would continue every 2 or 3 minutes, until I responded to that action by looking at the message.......THEN the alert would stop.
Is there any way to customize the alert tone for the calendar that's automated (ideally running on the phone itself) or lets you use ringtones already uploaded on the phone? I searched around, and the only method I seem to be able to find is to use iBrickr. Are there any other tools that let you do this?
I have had my iphone for 3/4 weeks and since the beginging when i plug my headphones in i only get sound out of one ear bud if i slowly take it out and posion it right it come out of both but that means i need to hold the headphones in place to enjoy my music fully
I have a jailbroken iPhone 32GB 3GS 3.12. During the past few days almost every time I receive or make a phone call I get no sound. The calls connect and the timer starts but just no sound. When I reboot the phone it works on usually the first couple of calls but then it goes out again. Im not sure if this happened during an update to a jailbroken app or not. Anyone else having this problem? If so, did you fix it? Here are some of my jailbroken apps I have for comparison:
BiteSMS (just upgraded to full license this week-could be problem?) AIM SMS sounds (downloaded within last week) LockInfo Backgrounder, MultiIcon Mover 5 column springboard 5 column dock extended prefs Cydget SSH GV Mobile WeatherIcon LiveClock Space Invaders wifi logo AT&T logo Black battery icon a few themes
I may be missing a few but thats what I can think of off the top of my head.
I have no sound when receiving a call through the earpiece. The caller can hear me and the bottom speakers work fine. I can only hear when using headphones or speaker mode. Have tried restarting, tapping the earphone speaker, blowing into it..
I just became the owner of an iPhone 3G and am very pleased with it all round. But there is one thing that is really bugging me. I dont seem to be able to hear a sound or feel a vibration when I receive a new mail.
If this happens when the phone is on my desk or in my pocket or bag, or basically anywhere where my eyes are not fixed on the screen, how am I supposed to know that I have received a new mail?
I am a bit worried about this, because I am a heavy email user when it comes to mobiles.
My iphone 4s receives calls but has stopped ringing, hence I keep missing calls. I have checked my settings, the volume is up and it is not set to silent. I have always had the settings so that it rings and vibrates together, itrs just stopped ringing.
I have been back through ring tones and clicked on it and it sounds, the speaker works also. It would seem all announcement tones have stopped announcing be it text, call, message etc etc.
Its doing my nut in as I I am missing lots of important calls and am finding I spending a lot of my time checking my phone for missed calls.
I've had my X6 for about four months now and have never encountered any problems until the last 24 hours. When I recieve a text I am no longer alerted on the home screen and no noise will be made when I am on the 'General' profile. I can only see if i have recieved a text my going to messaging on the Menu and checking Inbox here. I am not alerted by an icon at the top of the screen either in the corner as i was before.
I just noticed in my 3gs that once I am in the message thread and the same person replies to my message, the default message tone saved in my setings is not played, instead, it is only like a "balloon sound" / "bubble sound"
I've been using a A-920 (CDMA) for almost a year now, but Bell has blocked so many options on it, that it's almost only good for calls... Anyway, I got myself a T-609 (GSM) for my personnal line with Rogers. This phone rocks a lot....easy to connect to a PC, great pics function, etc... Now, I'm lookig for a way to change the 'ringtone' when a SMS comes in. I got the 'you've got mail' sound, but I cannot find how to put it so when a SMS arrives, I hear it?
Is there any way to make the VX8700 play a sound while logged into the installed version of Web Messenger while the phone is closed? It currently displays a message on the outer screen but no sound will play. I've been through all of the sound menus and thought multimedia messages was it but it still doesn't work.
I just upgraded to OS 6.0 today and now whenever I get a notification from Facebook, the sound won't play like it used to. When I have the phone on vibrate, it does not vibrate either. I tried going into each sound profile and I set the alerts for "social feeds" since Facebook isn't listed under there (only Twitter is).
My Vivaz no longer alerts me when I get a text, there is no sound or vibration, it is not on silent mode and I've checked in my message settings the volume and that a sound is supposed to play when a text arrives. The envelope that used to show at the top of the screen when I received a text no longer appears either. The only way to know if i've got a new message is to go into my inbox where it appears; the side of the phone will then flash but still no sound. I ran a software update, then a reset and software update, but neither have made any difference.
My 5530 is no longer alerting me that i have a message, there is no sound, no pop up message and no symbol at the top of the phone, the only was of knowing i have a message is to go in to the messge menu and look for the start next to the inbox. The rest of the phone is find, alerts me normally when recieving calls.
I have tried restoring to factory setting, hard reset and reinstalling but nothing seams to work.
I have a bold 9900 and for the last few days the alert tones have been sounding randomly for no reason. There are no messages or notifications. This even happens when everything is switched to silent and the phone is turned off. The only time it stops is when I disconnect the battery??
yesterday I changed my ringer settings to silent (in a meeting) - ever since, I can't change them back. The "Sound and Alert Profiles" won't open when I try to select it. The icon on the top left won't open either.Even if I make changes under the Options and save them, they aren't changed.
All of a sudden (just today) my torch started playing a ringtone whenever I get a voicemail message. For whatever reason I cannot turn it off! It even does it in "vibrate" mode. When I go to the options menu I get alert sounds for email, level 1, PIN and text. How do I turn off voice mail notification?
My message sound alert is significantly low, almost impossible to hear. There are times the sound is normal, sounding high and alert, but after one or two rings at normal sounding, it becomes very low. Does anyone knowledgable have any idea how I can fix this? Just got the D900 last week so I haven't done anything to it except installed the Opera Mini browser.
