BB Curve 83xx :: NEW Voicemail Alert - How To Configure Vmail Alert Tone To CONTINUE To Sound Until RESPOND By Reading Message
I have an 8330 and i have setup the alert tone for voicemail and the alert is perfect when i receive a voicemail. The message shows up saying that i have a new vmail and the alert sounds. But, check this out...here is my practical problem:If I do not have the bberry directly on my person at the exact moment that a vmail arrives, and i am not right there to hear the alert, then it's over. The tone never sounds again after that. This kind of defeats the purpose of the alert tone, cuz if the phone rings and the bberry is on my person, then i would just ANSWER the call and not let it go to vmail. But if I walk away from my bberry for 5 minutes, and have missed the alert tone, i would have to look at the messages to see if there is a new one telling me that i have a NEW unheard vmail. So, is there any way to configure the vmail alert tone to CONTINUE to sound, until I RESPOND by reading the message? EVERY other PDA (always had verizon and still do) i have had in the past, would do this. The alert tone would continue every 2 or 3 minutes, until I responded to that action by looking at the message.......THEN the alert would stop.

IPhone :: Calendar Alert Sound Customization?
Is there any way to customize the alert tone for the calendar that's automated (ideally running on the phone itself) or lets you use ringtones already uploaded on the phone? I searched around, and the only method I seem to be able to find is to use iBrickr. Are there any other tools that let you do this?

IPhone :: Selected SMS Alert Sound Doesn't Play / When Get A New SMS
I've found lately that my selected SMS alert sound doesn't play when I get a new SMS. I get the vibration, but not the sound. Usually rebooting the phone fixes this, other times, I have to force-quit the SMS app (while in SMS hold the home for about 8 secs til the app quits) to get the sounds to work again (even after rebooting the phone).Anyone else experienced this? Or even better have a fix?I'm using an 8GB G3, latest OS. Information:

IPhone :: Strange Random Sound Alert That Plays
I have gotten an unknown sound notification on my iPhone ... I have checked every notification SFX, and none of them match the sound I hear. ... It is a quick series of 5 descending notes..." Sadly there was no answer there. Can anyone help explain what app is making this unwelcome and intrusive sound? To me I'd describe it as a descending series of digital chimes. It's actually quite a nice sound effect, if it didn't make me jump each time! And of course, when I go to the phone there is no alert on the screen :S Solution: The sound I heard was, in fact, a Nimbuzz notification. I verified it with a friend and both our phones made the same sound when Nimbuzz logged off the network. (The app allows you to set a logoff timer that can be 5, 15, or 30 minutes, after which it will sound the chime I heard. It's annoying and loud, so I switched off the Nimbuzz notification sounds in the phone settings.) Now I can't say that what I was hearing was the same as the original post, but if you have Nimbuzz installed I can almost guarantee that was it. By the way, there is nothing on the app page in iTunes or on the Nimbuzz web site about this "feature." Information: Macbook Pro 2.8GHz, 4GB RAM, 450GB HD

IPhone :: SMS Alert Tone Doesn't Play / Sound Plays When Select Manually
I have an iPhone 3G, and I have it set to play a custom ringtone when I receive a call, and to play the 'chime' tone when I receive an SMS. (No vibrating on either.)It plays the right ringtone when somebody calls, but the SMS tone often doesn't play. I haven't noticed a strict pattern as such, but it seems to happen from the third or fourth sms each day, and does not play again until I have either cradled and removed the iPhone or deselected and reselected the SMS tone in settings. It also does not play the SMS tone if it is sitting in the charging cradle. Even if I go into settings > sounds > new text message and manually select each sound, not a peep is heard. If I do the same thing with ringtones (ie manually select them in settings while the iPhone is cradled) it does play them.If I remove the iPhone from the cradle and manually select SMS tones the sound plays. IPhone :: No Sound When Making / Receiving Calls
I have a jailbroken iPhone 32GB 3GS 3.12. During the past few days almost every time I receive or make a phone call I get no sound. The calls connect and the timer starts but just no sound. When I reboot the phone it works on usually the first couple of calls but then it goes out again. Im not sure if this happened during an update to a jailbroken app or not. Anyone else having this problem? If so, did you fix it? Here are some of my jailbroken apps I have for comparison: BiteSMS (just upgraded to full license this week-could be problem?) AIM SMS sounds (downloaded within last week) LockInfo Backgrounder, MultiIcon Mover 5 column springboard 5 column dock extended prefs Cydget SSH GV Mobile WeatherIcon LiveClock Space Invaders wifi logo AT&T logo Black battery icon a few themes I may be missing a few but thats what I can think of off the top of my head.

IPhone 4 :: No Sound From Ear Piece Making / Receiving Calls?
Just received an iPhone 4 16GB on Friday by courier from Optus (Australia).Set it up earlier this evening, and started testing it. Have had some immediate problems, whether making or receiving a call, I am not able to hear the person at the other end. They can hear my voice clearly, but I can't hear theirs. As if the ear piece is completely dead. This happened on about 5 test calls from my iPhone 4 to another iPhone 3G with Optus, and to a landline number.Suddenly, however the ear piece started working on the 6th test call, and I could hear the person on the other end - TOTALLY RANDOM!Can anyone please comment if they have had a similar experience.I will definitely return the phone if this problem continues and take up the 10 day cooling off period that Optus offers. So far I rate the iPhone 4 a ZERO... worst product Apple have ever released. Fingers crossed if this is a bug, and can be easily fixed with a software update.Message was edited by: outsideworld Information: MBP 13" Mac OS X (10.6.2)

IPhone :: No Sound Or Vibration / Notification Upon Receiving New Email ?
I just became the owner of an iPhone 3G and am very pleased with it all round. But there is one thing that is really bugging me. I dont seem to be able to hear a sound or feel a vibration when I receive a new mail. If this happens when the phone is on my desk or in my pocket or bag, or basically anywhere where my eyes are not fixed on the screen, how am I supposed to know that I have received a new mail? I am a bit worried about this, because I am a heavy email user when it comes to mobiles.

IPhone :: 4s Not Ringing But Receiving Calls, No Sound Notifications Evident
My iphone 4s receives calls but has stopped ringing, hence I keep missing calls. I have checked my settings, the volume is up and it is not set to silent. I have always had the settings so that it rings and vibrates together, itrs just stopped ringing. I have been back through ring tones and clicked on it and it sounds, the speaker works also. It would seem all announcement tones have stopped announcing be it text, call, message etc etc. Its doing my nut in as I I am missing lots of important calls and am finding I spending a lot of my time checking my phone for missed calls.
