Jul 2, 2010I just purchased a 3GS iphone that is running OS 3.1.3 on it. Not sure if I want to upgrade to 4 yet, but don't think I would want the 'new upgrade/fix' Apple is coming out with that would actually list my bars lower than they show now.So my question is, can I just download iOS 4 without installing it yet in case I decide to install it later? If so how? I am new to iphone's so forgive my ignorance.Also, anyone who is going back to their 3GS are you upgrading to 4 or keeping the old OS on there.

Mar 12, 2012When restarted my computer and reconnects my iPhone, it now prompts saying that iPhone in recovery mode and I must restore before it can be used with iTunes. I am very sure there's 2 backup copies in my (default designated) computer folder, with one being dated 12Mar (the day of updating). I browsed the computer folder while waiting for the downloads in iTunes.
However the backup folder is now empty!! and I can't restore to any previous backup, and my phone cannot be turn on. The iTunes restore button asked if I wanted to restore to original factory settings. How could this happen?!! My Recycle bin has this item "iPhone3,1_5.0.1_9A405_Restore.ipsw".
How can I retreive my previous phone backup, or just return to iOS5.0.1 with its data prior to the 5.1?

Sep 14, 2010My k800i has been absolutely fine for the 4 or so years i've owned it but recently trying to start the golf game it came installed with has crashed the phone sending into an auto restart.Today instead of restarting, the phone crashed and had a few pixels on the screen in dark Grey but wouldn't change so i had to remove the battery. Now whenever i turn on the phone, the screen display is completely white and the phone vibrates once. I have tried removing the memory card, letting the phone sit for a few minutes before trying again etc all with no success. After googling this problem it seems fairly common but I didn't want to download different software that could damage it permanently. Does anyone know a good solution to this?

Dec 11, 2014I was just playing a game, the phone got hot and turned off. I let it cool, it wouldn't turn on again. I noticed the blue light in the upper left stayed on and the phone was pulsing/vibrating a bit. I have been charging the phone for the last hour thinking that might be the issue. No. The blue light is still on. I tried removing the battery and SD card for 10 seconds before retrying to boot my phone. Nothing abut blue light and some pulses from time to time.
