Feb 10, 2010I've seen references to firmware versions here, but the only one I could find is my main software level. 4.5.0. Otherwise I would've listed it.I've got a recent problem that just cropped up. I've got a blackberry 8300. No other issues with it. Historically, I have been able to charge it fully, then use it for 3-4 days without needing to recharge. Most of the time it is with a Motorola blue tooth earpiece. I don't talk a lot. Probably 15 to 20 minutes a day tops. Occasionally I'll have a longer conversation. Recent;ly ( a few weeks ago, I had a full battery in the AM, used the bluethooth for about 15-20 minutes and the phone shut off. Upon powering up, it said "not enough power for radio". I let it charge fully for a few hours. The next day or two was similar, very little use and the battery was totally dead. No warning.
I charged it up again, and this time I didn't use the blue tooth for 3 days. I had 3 bars left. I started using the blue tooth and within 5 minutes the phone was dead. Went from 3 bars to dead.
I charged it up again, this time I didn't use the blue tooth at all. The battery lasted for about 4 days. I was able to talk on the phone all the through the last bar (red). No problem.It seems like the battery gets to a certain point, and then with the added load of the BT radio, it just gives out when it gets down to a few bars.
