IPhone :: Unable To Send Emails - Get Message : Connection To Outgoing Server Smtp.live.com Failed

I have access to my Hotmail account and have had no problems with it until now. I can receive messages, but can no longer send. I have not made a change to any of the settings, so cannot understand what the problem is. When I try t send a message I get this message; the connection to the outgoing server smtp.live.com failed. I am not particularly technical so am not really sure how to proceed. I have switched off wi-fi and restarted the phone without any joy.

IPhone 3G :: Connection To Outgoing Server Smtp.me.com Failed?
When trying to send emails from my Mobile Me account from my iphone I get the error message:"the connection to the outgoing server smtp.me.com failed" I have tried removing and re adding the account to the phone twice (via the phone not itunes) and although Push now works again (that was also broken) send does not. I have disabled syncing from itunes as some people thought that was causing an issue. I haven't changed the settings that are automatically set up when you add the account. This error happens on both WiFi and 3G only. If anyone can help I sure would appreciate it.

IPhone :: Can't SEND Mail / Connection To Outgoing Server Failed
I have not been able to send email even if I Reply to a message I receive. I have the settings sync'd from home (Comcast) and the settings I was given by the hosting service where my website and the email address I use is.Neither work and I suspect the iPhone's capability. All the settings have been checked multiple times. It's been 4 days.

"The connection to the outgoing server "smtp.comcast.net" failed"."The connection to the outgoing server "smtpout.secureserver.net" failed".

I've also occasionally received errors like:"the recipient's address cannot be found" - but I'm replying! There couldn't be a typo!
"the sender's address is incorrect" (or something like that).Could these be related to the "outgoing server" error or is it a totally different problem? I also have a yahoo account with different settings that totally works - go figure. What else can I try? Who should I call?

IPhone 3GS :: Cannot Send Emails Outgoing Server?
I have had my iPhone 3GS for about 3 weeks now. All was well with sending & receiving emails until recently. Now I receive but cannot send - I get the error messages: "Cannot send mail. The server rejected one of the recipients addresses (N.B. - I am sending to my own email address as a Test - it works fine on my computer) AND "Connection to the outgoing server smtp.btconnect.com failed". It then tells me to reconfigure in Settings which I have tried to no avail. It worked perfectly until about 2 days ago and I have changed nothing.

IPhone :: Cannot Send Mail - Server "smtp" Failed
I got the iPhone a week ago and I finally got my work email account to appear on iPhone via POP. But while I can receive email, I CANNOT reply or send email out. I've tried changing SMTP port from 25 to 587, 2500, and 2525 but am still getting the "Cannot Send Mail" message. Have also gone back in to Outgoing Mail Server settings on iPhone to turn SSL off and Authentication via Password.

Company email is hosted by PacificNet Hong Kong and I'm trying to access email in the US. PacNet tech support forwarded me this link as troubleshooting iPhone email set up: (URL)... Out of curiosity, I took the settings and applied to Thunderbird and had no problems receiving or sending mail. Is it just the software on the iPhone or am I missing something?

IPhone :: Multiple Instances Of Same Outgoing SMTP Mail Server
I struggled a bit to set up my email account on my iPhone, and had to delete and start again a few times. It's now all working fine, but somehow, every time I re-entered the details for my outgoing SMTP mail server, it has added the previous ones to "Other SMTP Servers", turning them off. I cannot edit them or delete them, and I made the mistake of turning one back on, which turned the other instances on too, and I cannot turn them off again. Is there a way to delete these multiple instances in "Other SMTP Servers" without affecting the Primary server?

IPhone :: Get Message Connection To Server Failed Frequently
I have an original iPhone and my colleague has a new 3G phone.I can send and receive mail without any problem, but the 3G phone gets "connection to server failed" about 60% of the time (not all the time). Last night, she finally received 40 messages that had been waiting for delivery since Friday.

I've checked all of the incoming and outgoing server preferences, passwords, port numbers, etc. but am unable to determine the source of the problem.

BlackBerry :: Different Incoming (POP3) And Outgoing (SMTP) Server?
I have reasonable, but limited, BB exposure over a number of years, but always in a simple email scenario (typically one handset, accessing a single POP3 account). However, for reasons that I will skip over at this point in time for simplicity, we now need to set up a 9300 (on BT, here in the UK) to be able receive from one (POP3) server, but send out via another (SMTP).Unfortunately, however, the BT web interface (BIS ?) only allows one address for "server".

IPhone :: Cannot Delete Extra Outgoing SMTP Servers / Mail Won't Send Through 3G
So when I was creating my mail accounts on my iPhone I have a couple of duplicates of a misspelled SMTP server I accidentally created. And now, cause of some faulty error, I have no way of deleting these few extra servers I have so every time I open mail on my iPhone I have to click through about 6 "Cannot send mail, smtp-server.local-ISP.com cannot connect, In outbox, try again later."Quite annoying...

I find myself quite furious when I type up a whole email while I'm on the go, then when I walk into a coffee shop I happen to click send and it goes, just like that sent, but when I type up an email and try and send it over 3G I get one of a two errors. "Recipients invalid" or "Server denied request to send" It makes me furious already that 3G has been going on and off but the fact that I can send mail through my iPhone with WiFi and not 3G is pathetic, and even more the fact that it makes up a bunch of BS errors...

IPhone :: Unable To Successfully Set Up Mail When Using Verizon.net As Outgoing Smtp
I have a Powerbook G4 Titanium using Mail 3.5 and Leopard.I have a Verizon PC card for my pcmcia port in order to have wireless email on the road.I am struggling trying to set up Verizon.net as my outgoing SMTP even though I have followed Verizon's instructions to the letter. I have using my cell number assigned to the pc card and other things they suggest on their support site. They do not seem to indicate an incoming pop account. So: Can I set up verizon.net as an outgoing smtp only and NOT lose my ISP settings that I would have for a certain email address associated with that ISP? Probably unclear so I am happy to provide answers to specific questions needed for clarification. In short, when I am on road using a cell card for email, I can receive email but not send it because I don't seem to have the correct formulation to send email out on the verizon network. Stumped

IPhone :: Cannot Send Mail - Address Not Recognized By 3rd Party SMTP Server?
I've got a problem where I have an ISP account and MobileMe, and I'm trying to use them together. Basically, my ISP e-mail is forward to MobileMe so that I can enjoy IMAP instead of just POP. If it matters, the ISP is Rogers. I can receive my e-mail just fine on my iPhone. Problem is, when sending an e-mail, I'd like for it to appear to have been sent from my ISP account to avoid confusion for others. So, I have configured my outgoing account as being my ISP's. But when I try to send something, I get a "Cannot Send Mail - The sender address was invalid." error.

I'm pretty sure that my outgoing SMTP account (using my ISP provider) is configured correctly because it matches my settings on my iMac, where it works just fine. I think the reason that it's not working is because the address in Account Info on my iPhone is my MobileMe address. But when I try to access the SMTP server on my ISP, it doesn't like the MobileMe address, and refuses to send it.

On my iMac, I have the freedom of changing my address to my ISP address, even though I'm picking up my e-mail from the MobileMe IMAP servers. But on my iPhone, this field cannot be edited. Do I have a way out? Or am I stuck having to send from my MobileMe server using my MobileMe address?

IPhone :: Not Attempting To Send Outbound SMTP Mail Via WiFi Connection
We have several iPhones that when connected via our WiFi connection refuse (even attempt!) to send outbound mail via our SMTP server, they all say connecting and never send any messages successfully.

I say refuse because we've performed a traffic export from the router that connects our WiFi vlan to our mail server and the iPhones are not even sending a single packet! Completely silence when you hit send. Inbound POP access works, the iPhone will pick up email and the traffic export shows the POP connection working. However when using (non-SSL) SMTP (with no password) the iPhones (4x iPhones running 2.1) all show the same behaviour and don't send a single packet. Name resolution isn't a problem as the iPhones pickup incoming email and can access the web via WiFI (and even if we specify IP same behaviour occurs when sending email), the acls on the router are working ok as pcs/laptops (including an Apple laptop) can send/receive email via our WiFI lan, our mail server works with various OSs so it all seems to point to it being a problem with the iPhone itself which is where I am stuck.

Not knowing much about the iPhone, the limited support info help on the Apple website (that I can find) and no terminal/shell access on the iPhone I've not been able to troubleshoot this any further.

Motorola Atrix 2 :: Can't Send Mail Via SMTP On Exchange Server
My very small company uses Exchange Server 2003 to host our own email. On my laptop, I use Outlook. When I'm out of the office I connect my laptop to the internet and access my exchange mail via an IMAP account. With that connection, I can send mail using the SMTP server. I got my new Atrix 2 and set up that account using the advanced settings that were the closest to the settings I use for the IMAP account in my Outlook setup. I was immediately able to see my inbox and receive email. After one tweak (that I can't remember any more), I was able to sent mail. Then a few hours later, I couldn't. I've tried every possible combination of the Advanced Settings in the Account Setup screens on the phone. Nothing works. I tried a Master Reset and all that accomplished was flushing away the contact list that the salesperson had copied to my new Atrix from my old phone when I bought it. I thought that was backed up to Google and would be restored when I logged back in but apparently not. Any advice on how to get that back? But the main problem is sending mail.
