IPhone :: Stop Mail App From Auto-downloading Attachments?
Something is EXTREMELY bothering on iPhone and NEVER happens on other operating systems / platforms: Mail app on iPhone downloads the mail attachements, without asking me. It costs me a lot when this happens on a gsm network connection (not on wi-fi). It is normal in any mail client in the world to have the option of downloading only headers, or at least to decide when and if you want to download the attach.
Can this be set in anyway? Or is just one annoying thing that you cannot change? If so, is there a certain limit for the attachement file-size, that is used for the auto-download? I mean, above this limit, the attachements are not downloaded automatically anymore?

IPhone :: App Downloaded Twice - How To Stop Downloading?
I've searched everywhere and can't find an answer to this; it's a slightly different problem than just waiting for it to finish and erasing it. I stated the TomTom download on my phone, it timed out, so I started and finished the download on the computer. Synced it to my phone. Now, since I opened App Store on my phone again, it started the download on my phone again and erased the completed copy that was on there. I've tried syncing with iTunes again to try and get the complete copy back on, but it won't do anything because the incomplete version is on the phone. I can see the incomplete download in itunes and I'm letting it complete on the computer, but it's going to take 17+ HOURS to finish (what the heck is wrong with Apple's servers? I know it's over a gig, but you'd think Apple of all places would have downloads running at more than 17kb/s on my 10mbps line). I've tried rebooting the device, no luck.
IPhone :: Bulk - Spam Mail - Stop It Coming From Yahoo Mail
I have my iphone setup to send my emails to my iphone as I have yahoo mail. like the yahoo mail i can click on one box and delete all my bulk/spam mail with one click, but they also go to my iphone and what a paid deleting over 40 spam mails a day one by one, anyway either to stop my spam mail from going to my iphone and just stay in my yahoo mail where i can delete it there instead of from my iphone and or also is there a way if i cant do that, then delete all the spam mail with one click like i can in yahoo mail.
IPhone :: POP Mail Account Not Downloading To Mail App?
i recently received an iphone (non-3G) as a hand-me-down and i am having trouble configuring my gmail account the way i would like. i do not use the gmail website to check my email; i use the mail app. i want to be able to download my gmail (all of the emails i get) to both my iphone and the mail app. so, if i am at work all day and emails come in periodically to my iphone, i want to be able to come home and get all of those same emails on my computer when i check my email through mail.
when i first set up gmail on my iphone, i configured it as a POP account and did some tests. what i wanted seemed to be working; however, if i checked my gmail on the mail app first, i did not get the email on my iphone (which was fine, because getting the email on my computer is more important). however, if i used the iphone to check gmail before i used the mail app, i got the email on both devices. perfect! i was happy. however, i was having trouble sending email on the iphone. eventually, i decided to delete the gmail account and set it up while synching the iphone (as opposed to manually on the iphone).
ever since i re-set the gmail account on my iphone, i am not able to download email to both devices. if i receive email on my iphone, i am not able to then download it to my computer. conversely, if i check my email on my computer, i then cannot download it to my iphone. the latter is an issue that does not bother me, but i want to be able to download all of my email from gmail to my computer, no matter if it has been downloaded to my iphone or not.
i cannot find anything that is different in any of my settings now than it was when i had first added the account. this really is a bother, so any help would be appreciated! and i do not want to use IMAP, so please only give me solutions that will work with POP.

IPhone :: Mail Has Stopped Downloading Mail?
I am using the iPhone 4s. Mail worked until 3 days ago. I get a message to contact my server. Using hotmail and all my other devises are working, i. e. iPad computers, etc. I hate to lose my contacts by deleting the account since I know I will lose contact information.
IPhone :: Yahoo Email Not Automatically Downloading?
I've noticed that yahoo emails don't automatically download on my phone anymore - when I launch the mail app (the built-in apple one, NOT the yahoo mail app), then it downloads all new messages, but other than that, they're not getting pushed automatically. They used to automatically get pushed, and I haven't changed any settings.
IPhone :: Make It Stop Automatically Syncing Duplicated Outlook Contacts?
My Outlook stores multiple contacts for the same person automatically (one with an email address only, one with a phone number only, etc.). When my iPhone syncs with the cloud it stores those multiple contacts and makes it frustrating to look up one person's number and email under separate entries. How do I prevent my iPhone from storing the duplicate contacts?
IPhone :: Downloading Mail To 4?
A few days ago when receiving gmail messages I am unable to see the conbtents of the messages received; only when I answer them do I see the full message (and beforehand get a question whether I want to download the full message). what can I do to remedy this?
IPhone :: Inconsistent Mail Downloading.
I have a 3G iPhone and my wife has an original iPhone, both with 2.0.1 software. For quite awhile, both of us have had the same problem downloading mail. We both have email accounts on the same provider/server (Road Runner, TIme Warner). Sometimes it works fine, downloading as soon as I open the mail program. However, at least a couple times a day, it fails to download. Sometimes it says, "checking for mail" but never stops saying that and doesn't ever download the emails. Sometimes it says "updated" and when I hit the update button, nothing happens. In both instances, I know that there are new emails that it should be getting. If I turn the phone Off then On, or reset the phone, it will usually then download the emails.
IPhone :: Can Read Mail Without Downloading New
Can I read mail in my inbox without downloading newmail from the server? I would like to be able to open Mail and read an email without it downloading new emails and using up data and battery -I'd rather set it to manually do that. There's a feature to "fetch manually" but either it is not working or I am misunderstanding how it works. Everytime I open Mail it checks the server. I played around with turning on and off Fetch and Push. Seems unfortunate that I might not be able to read an email in my inbox without downloading unknown large emails while traveling where data and battery are sometimes difficult to manage.
BB Bold :: 9900 Won't Stop Downloading?
i updated 3 apps today on my bold 9900, bridge, evernote and messenger. Once i got them all updated and the phone restarted, the download action icon started running and hasn't stopped for nearly an hour, unless i turn off the wifi manually. it went off briefly, about 3 minutes, when i synced my playbook with my bold under the blackberry bridge app on my phone. i've tried going to the home screen where it tells which applications are running and it's just the usual ones, home, bbm, internet, phone and messages. i have tried turning off the phone several times, but still the problem persists.

IPhone :: Mail Accounts From Same Host Not Downloading To My Mac
I have three mail accounts(A, B and C) - one (A) is from one hosting service and another two (B and C) from a different hosting service. A works great. B works great. C (the second email account from the same host as B) is the problem. If I download mail on my iPhone mail app, it will not download to my desktop Mail. However, if I check it through the web based email client, I can see that those emails have not been deleted from the server...they are still there...but Mail does not download them.

IPhone :: Mail Won't Download Automatically - How To Fix
I just got my iPhone 3G yesterday (AHHHH) and in the process of getting everything working, I figured out email sent to any of the 3 email accounts I have on my iPhone will not download automatically onto my phone. That is, I have to go into mail and ask it to check for new messages before it will know there are new messages on the server. I have searched far and wide for an option that says "Check every XX minutes for new mail," but to no avail.
