I've been using Siri and voice dictation quite happily since I got my new iPhone, but starting yesterday it has stopped working completely. When I call up Siri for anything.
Info:
MacBookPro i7 15, Mac OS X (10.7.1), iPhone 4; iPad 2 3G
Lost Safari, Camera as well as camera in other camera apps, wi-fi, App Store, ITunes. Saw a post on here to go to settings and turn restrictions off which I did and now everything but SIRI is working. When I attempt to use SIRI, Voice Control comes on which is pretty much worthless!
both my father and I are experiencing complete iPhone lookups when using Siri to create or respond to messages that come in. It is not completely consistent, but most often, if we receive a text or iMessage and attempt to "reply" via Siri, the phone locks up on the send portion. Siri goes through the prompts of what would you like to say, then reads the message back and prompts to send. When we reply to "send", Siri then states "Alright, I'll send the message, but the mic indicator keeps circling and the entire iPhone 4S locks up where only a hard reboot will clear it. This can happen when on the lock screen or home screen. This situation also happens when you ask Siri to generate a message, but typically not until a couple of messages have gone back and forth leveraging Siri then the phone again locks up on the "send" portion in the same way. Simply odd and frustrating behavior. There are a few times it will go through ok, but most often it will lock the phone up. That said, the dictation feature never hangs.
I downloaded and used Siri Assistant on my iPhone 3gs for about a year. Loved it. Now, the app still starts, but continually says there is no network connection available? Has Apple stopped supporting the stand alone version just because they have now included it in the 4gs?
Also, does the 4gs have file send capability via Bluetooth yet, and if not, what are we supposed to do with synching our contact and phone information into our Prius?
Only way I have found so far is to copy my Outlook contact list into my old Sony Ericson phone and synch it with the Prius. That worked from day one, and sure beats the heck out of trying to enter each and every contact one key at a time.
It seems that after the last iOS update (5.1) I now have to type in my passcode and unlock my phone before I can use Siri to make a call or text. WTH? That completely defeats the purpose of using Siri at all for those tasks! Please tell me why this wasn't introduced as an option rather than FORCED on me. Or explain how I can get Siri back to how she was before, so I can make calls while driving. It is EXTREMELY unsafe to take your eyes off the road and stare at your phone while you type in the passcode so you can make a call. Siri was perfect before.
Looks like I will be heading to Verizon tomrrorow for an exchage on my DROID after 3 weeks with it. Today, suddenly, the bottom icons are no longer responding to touch. I cannot click the phone dialer, SMS, camera or app icons. Anything above this first row still works fine. I did a factory reset on the phone and still no luck.
How do I remove a 'wife' from iPhone. I told Siri that my partner was my wife then I married her and changed her contact details and now Siri thinks I have two wives and asks which one when I ask Siri to call or send a message.
This is a company iPhone. It stated passcode is expired; I changed it. Now new passcode comes up invalid and locks phone for longer and longer periods.
siri has taken over my iphone unexpectedly. It talks constantly and requires double taps and won't let me scroll. what happened and how do i fix it? I have turned it off. I have rebooted. I have tried to push every button on the phone but all require double tapping and Siri won't shut up.
I was wondering if you can change the settings on an IPhone 4s to be able to look for businesses, maps, and traffic in the united Kingdom as Siri keeps saying its only available in the us?
