Mar 15, 2012in the text message conversation view,there's only a soft sound alert when new messages are received.even when the screen is off, you get no popup preview or a regular notification sound whatsoever.the only way to keep getting the regular notification & previews is to quit the app each time you send out a text.often times when you are in the middle of something and are unable to focus on the phone itself for the conversation, you forget to quit the message app, then you are totally not aware there have been messages coming in because it only gives you a soft sound alert that's totally unable to hear when you're outside walking, or other similar scenarios
It's been bugging me for years, it's specially annoying when the other person I chat with isn't aware of this issue and ocassionally misses out my messages.i mean,if apple insists that to avoid this problem, the users MUST remember to quit the conversation RIGHT AFTER EVERY SINGLE LINE, this is just absolutely unrealistic.I now do it every time because I'm aware of the issue, but not the other people I have conversations with.I've had too many situations where I had to wait for a long time to receive response only to find out that the other person wasn't aware the new text messages, because it was simply too soft to hear, and completely no other sort of things to notify you with.so i wonder if there really isn't a way to change the notification behavior, cuz apparently it's impossible that I make everybody I send text to change their habits just for this.

Aug 19, 2011I have observed a weird behavior of the latest Nokia Social. When I quit the application, the phone does not go offline permanently. In fact, the connection is terminated for about a second and reinitiated instantly. This behavior seems to be infinite. Terminating the connection in the connection manager does not keep the phone offline, since the connection is reinitiated instantly. The only way to revert the phone in a normal offline state is to restart it.
I have reinstalled the application - no luck.
I have observed this issue after running an update on both Symbian (Anna update) and the Social app. I am not sure, if this is somehow related to Symbian Anna.
It would be helpful to see if the problem can be reconstructed with and without the new Symbian Anna.
This issue makes the Social app quite useless, since I don't want to restart my phone every time after running it and I do not want to drain my battery with the reconnection orgy neither.

Jul 2, 2012Ever since the ICS update my battery life is 2x worse than before on Gingerbread. I have noticed on here that I am not the only one with this issue. Is there and options I can do to improve battery life? I noticed there is no way to toggle back and forth betwen 3G and 4G and background data cant be turned off now. I have also noticed they got rid of the task manager that actually worked and force quit the apps. I had to force quit ever app manually ever since the update. Every app was running in the background. I got this phone for the extended battery life and if I dont use the phone all day and by the end of the night I have 20% battery left, something is wrong. ICS has a lot of great features, but if I had a chance to un-install ICS I would.

May 23, 2012I was given a copy of fast 5 which was a bluray with dvd and also digital copy.
I selected the digital copy to be in iTunes rather then Windows Media Player since figure more chance of viewing in future if I get a iPad or something.
So it downloaded to my iTunes put it in my movies section, then I connected my iPhone to iTunes and click sync Movies and made sure it was selected.
But now I get a error message stating "Fast Five was not copied to the iPhone "Lanky71" because it cannot be played on this iPhone"

Jun 27, 2010Having just upgraded to the iPhone 4 from a 3G, I'm so used to everything working so smoothly that I'm starting to expect I can use it more like a computer. So its slightly disappointing to see that there's an 8-pages-open-at-a-time limit in Safari. For example, I like to click a bunch of thread links on macrumors just to read them one by one, but now you can only have eight at a time before the first ones you clicked start disappearing. Don't get me wrong, on the 3G after 3 pages were open, it would either start to get very slow or just crash, so this is a huge improvement, I just thought that with the 512mb of RAM it would be a bit more capable now. Was this the same situation as it was before? (mainly on the 3GS I guess)
