IPhone :: Red Circle With Dash For Deleting Photo Albums Disappeared?
May 7, 2012
The red circle with dash for deleting the photo ablums isn't showing when I clicked "Edit"...just blank space next to the the album photo/name. I'm puzzled 'cuz I don't know how it did happened. Is there a way to fix it so I can delete the album? Or at least, delete all photos at once, not one by one to increase the memory?
I have now synced all my photos inadvertantly to my Iphone 2x's and now am trying to delete all of them to free up space. When I go to albums - I hit edit and it does not allow me to delete the photos- any advise on this I am open....
Just "upgraded" my Palm Pre for a iPhone 4 and going crazy trying figure out how to move my pictures out of the photo roll and into different albums. From what I have tried it seems making different albums only tags the photo but doesn't actually move it. Any suggestions as to how I can have pictures in different albums without them staying in the photo roll also? Do I need to use an app to be able to do this?
I have a first generation iphone where I had uploaded photo albums from my macbook, later my macbook crashed, and I lost all of the photos. The only copy I have of these photos is on my old iphone. I was able to import the camera roll, but the albums I put on the phone aren't available for import to iphoto or image capture. I tried downloading iExplorer but it could not view them either.
Info: iphone - the original, iOS 1.x, 1st generation iphone
i have a jailbroke iphone 2.2 3g iphone and a macbook. i have made some photo albums on my iphone (exported using itunes and iphoto) anyway my mac broke, and i had to get a new one.
now my problem is how do i transfer my photo albums from my iphone to my new mac? they are visible on my iphone in the albums, but i cant seem to transfer them back to the mac. they arent visable in itunes and imtoo pc transfer cant find them.
i have tried ssh but cant find the folder they are in
I take all of my photos and put them onto my Macbook into a folder called "Pictures" and then into a sub folder name "iPhone Photos". Now in itunes when I sync I have selected to sync the photos from "iPhone Photos" but now I have 3 photo albums named:
Camera Roll Photo Library iPhone Photos
I'm sure its me not understanding what's going on but I believe I would need to have 2 photo albums [not 3] because 1 is for the pictures that I actually take with the camera named "Camera Roll" and then another one for pictures that I sync. How can I merge these into 2 albums because 2 of the albums have the identical photos in it.
I have two photo albums that will not go away. I made sure that on iTunes it does not sync my photos and they don't but they still want leave.
they are taking up the space on my phone. both albums as the same 80 photos. there has got to be a way to remove them. if not that was very stupid on apples part. unless it is a move to make you get a bigger phone.
where my shared albums are when i post them from my iphone? i see these in Photos App > Shared iCloud Photo Sharing but i am NOT seeing these albums in my iCloud account (i don't even see an icon for them) and i am NOT able to access this album even when i send myself an invite email which asks me if i want to join the album.┬ finally, can only mac users access these??┬ iPhone 6, iOS 8
I'll start with saying I've made a thread somewhat related to this subject almost a year ago: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=551024 where I was wondering why my photos synced to the iPhone would double in file size when transferred from my computer to the phone. Back then, the photo albums on the phone were of acceptable quality so I never tried to push the issue.
Recently, I would say after 3.0.1 since I don't remember 3.0 having this problem, the photos in my photo albums are of absurdly low quality. Here are 3 photos that I've emailed from the phone:
That gradient banding is horrible. And I'm quite sure it didn't used to do this. Something else to note, related to my aforementioned thread, the file sizes for the photos from the phone range from 40 to 100 KB. My original files are in the 300 to 500 KB range, saved at maximum quality from Photoshop at 1024*683.
The originals on my computer weigh in at around 650 MB: iTunes optimizing these files inflates the size to 800 MB while making them lower resolution and lower quality. So yeah, what the hell?
Did they change the compression algorithm at some point? How are these 40-100 KB files taking up so much space? Unless the phone dynamically saves an even smaller file to email and MMS. Can someone try syncing my 3 originals through iPhoto or Aperture and check if those programs handle the optimizing differently?
Addendum: My originals are saved from Photoshop. Photos are synced manually through folders. I don't use iPhoto or Aperture. I've deleted the albums and resynced a few times already. There are 1340 photos on the phone, 211 are from the Camera Roll.
If I create a photo album on my iphone 4S I cannot get it to sync with my albums on iPhoto. I have tried deleting the ipod cache and other 'fixes' I have found via web searches but still cannot get it to sync. Does anyone have a solution. In terms of software both my phone and Mac have the latest ios versions and iPhoto has been updated to 9.2.3
Syncd several photo albums from iPhoto into new iPhone 3G. Now, if I try to delete from phone there is no way. In Photo folder (on phone) it shows a folder for camera roll as well as the three folders from iPhoto. I know that I can delete items in camera roll, but my albums are outside the camera roll. If I have the phone connected to my Mac, iPhoto shows the phone; it shows what is in the camera roll but it doesn't show the other albums. So I have no way of deleting them from phone. I've also connected to a PC with the same results -- "no photos."
On my Iphone I have multiple albums for my photos. For the life of me I can't find out how to transfer the photos from them!! Of course it's easy to transfer any photos that are in the CAMERA ROLL album, but it's impossible to grab photos from any other folder! Other than individually emailing each photo to get it off I can't figure out how to do it.
I Have several photo albums on my iPhone and iPad that I want to delete, but when viewing photo albums and click on "edit", there's no option to remove anything.┬ I've logged into my cloud account to remove them, but there's nothing referring to photos.
I've been getting problems with my photo shared invitations. They just simply won't be sent to the people I choose from my iPhone 4s.
Also when someone send me an invitation, the notification appears on the activity tab from the shared photos, but then when I press "accept" a popup message appears saying "This photo album is not longer shared" and it doesn't sync the photos. I know for sure the photo album still shared as I had tried to invite me from my dad's iPhone 5s.┬
I've already tried turning on and off the photo sharing and photo stream options from the iCloud tab in the settings of my device, and I've even tried relaunching the photo sharing from the iCloud settings from my mac. I also turned off the iCloud service and then turned it on again, but it just doesn't work.
I've change my password as well, updating it on my devices and the problem persists. ┬
