IPhone :: Video Playback Orientation / Landscape Vs Portrait
I took a slew of video over 4th of July.I held the phone vertically upright to shoot the video.When I moved the files to my PC, the playback was in landscape orientation, rather than portrait. Basically, you have to bend your neck to the left to view the video.Can anyone explain what may have happened and now that it's on the PC,can I correct it? BB Storm 9530/9500 :: Incoming Call Screen Needs To Be Locked To Portrait Only
When an incoming call comes in, please for the love of God force the screen orientation to be in Portrait ONLY. Why do you lock out the Phone App to be used in Portrait only, but leave the incoming call screen to be in landscape sometimes (depending on orientation prior to the call). That's just silly and here's why.Say a call comes in and the screen in in landscape. Well, you go and instead of hitting End to send the call to voicemail, you decide to hit End on the screen, only the screen desides to change orientation because you moved the phone a bit and not the End in landscape has just turned into Send in portrait and you just answered the call.

IPhone :: 3G Picture Orientation Problem.
Take a picture with iPhone. Connect to Mac. Image Capture app launches and I "Download All" to Pictures folder in Home folder. Images are deleted from the iPhone and moved into the Pictures folder. Opening an image from the Pictures folder opens them in the correct orientation in Preview. iTunes is set to import all pictures from the Pictures folder. Sync iPhone. Images are uploaded to the photo library and all of them are rotated 90 degrees CCW. Turning the phone causes the images to rotate automatically to retain "correct orientation" which is still wrong. Uploading an image from the phone (to Facebook for example) from the Photo Library results in a rotated image on the server. None of the suggestions I've seen so far are a "solution". I don't want to open every image I take in iPhoto and rotate it before I sync it back to my Photo Library. My question is how do I fix this, or prevent it from happening? Alternatively, is this a recognized bug that Apple intends to fix?

IPhone :: Incorrect Video Orientation
I recorded a video at a friends wedding of their first dance on my iPhone 4. I was holding the phone in landscape orientation thinking this would give a better layout. All was fine while recording the 4 min video. BUT when i play it back its always in the wrong orientation (video is on its side) no matter what way i turn the phone. But if i copy it to my PC then play it the PC plays it in its correct format. I though if i upload it to YouTube it would be ok but i was wrong its still playing it on its side. Is there any way to fix this and know what the phone wont play video in the orientation it was record?

IPhone :: 4 - Photo Orientation Problem
Everything else appears to work fine apart from the Photo stock app. When I have used my iphone4 for a while doing numerous tasks, when I go into the photos section I orientate my device landscape & it does not seem to always recognize at all that it is landscape, however right after I can go into say safari and it rotates fine. (If I reboot the phone it seems to fix the issue and it rotates again however its not the first time its occurred. Also sometimes when I take pictures for whatever reason the phone does not recognize where you take them so the geotaging fails to work. (This could be to do with trying it indoors though).

IPhone :: Video Orientation Problems On 4
I have taken two videos on the new iPhone 4 and in both cases I'm experiencing orientation problems. The first was shot with the camera held in portrait position and it plays fine when held that way. When I rotate to landscape, the picture does not widen out to fill the screen although it maintains the correct orientation. In the second video, I switched the camera from portrait to landscape while shooting. In playback, the orientation is wrong when the phone is held in either position. While held in portrait position, it shows a landscape image on it's side. While held in landscape position, it shows a portrait sized image, also tilted on it's side. Is this operator error or a bug?

IPhone :: Facetime Image Orientation?
I held a facetime chat with a friend and was completely unable to cause both phones to properly display horizontal oriented images. Each person saw the other horizontal image as a belt-line horizontal you would see on a vertically oriented iPhone. With both vertical-no problem. The ads clearly show several examples of both ends of the conversation captured in horizontal orientation, but nothing we could do would convince the phones to behave this way. Any clues?

IPhone :: Display Does Not Change Orientation
Suddenly my iPhone 3GS stopped allowing the change in orientation of the display when turning the phone 90 degrees. A symbol appeared at the top right, that looks like a warning that this feature is locked. Now, I cannot find out if and how to restore this feature. Info: iPhone 3GS, iOS 5.0.1

IPhone :: Photo Orientation Synching Problem
I take photos on my iPhone, then I put them into a folder and I keep that folder synched to the iPhone. That folder contains other photos from my Nikon cameras too. Mostly all the photos I take on the iPhone are in the portrait orientation (1200x1600). Unfortunately the portrait iPhone photos show up rotated incorrectly when synched back to the iPhone. When I turn the iPhone, it rotates the photo but it is still wrong. I tried putting these photos into iPhoto and synching to an album...they then show up with the right orientation. But, I don't use iPhoto, I use Bridge/Photoshop, so this isn't really a good work around. Anyone have a simple way to fix this?

IPhone :: Syncs Pictures Incorrect Orientation
I'm having a problem when I sync my pictures to my iphone. The pictures have the wrong orientation and I haven't been able to find a workaround for this. I'm using a Mac and I use Picasa for my pictures, not iPhoto. The pictures in question are correctly oriented in Picasa and within the Finder when I look at them but when they transfer they are not correctly oriented. Is this a bug? Is there a fix?

IPhone :: 4 Ios 4 Camera Roll Photo Orientation
Anyone else having an issue when viewing photos in photo library or camera roll with viewing them in landscape?? Photos will only allow me to view in portrait not landscape!! This is a big flaw if it's not just my phone. I have 32 gb iPhone 4 running ios 4 obviously. Once again can't view photos in library or camera roll in landscape only in portrait. It's like orientation is locked without actually doing so. Information: iPhone 4 iOS 4

IPhone :: Orientation Stuck Wont Rotate, Reset Accelerometer?
I dropped my iPhone (from about 4 ft on to carpet, no big deal) but now the orientation is stuck and it won't rotate into any other views. It acts as if it is constantly being held upside down so that the home button is at the top. It won't switch into landscape or into normal portrait. I have to constantly flip my phone upside down anytime I'm using an app that rotates like FaceTime. It's like the accelerometer can't register the correct direction I'm holding the phone. Same problem when I play games that use phone tilt, the phone is constantly titled to one side an stuck there. I need to reset the accelerometer or recalibrate it at least. I tried resetting all settings, closing all apps, turning the phone off, turning on and off the rotation lock, nothing fixes it?!?!?! Info: iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1

IPhone :: IPhone 4.0 On 3G Missing Wallpapers And Orientation Lock
Both of those KEY features are missing. Orientation lock should have been there since day one, but you have to pay 200 dollars + 2 years of contract to enable it apparently.What is the reason for not including wallpapers?, or even orientation lock (one of the most requested features)?..They could easily have included the orientation lock "panel" without showing the app switcher.At least they could have included orientation lock in the Settings application!http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.htmlIf you really want to get their attention: (free developer account required) http://bugreporter.apple.com

IPhone :: Do You Use Landscape Or Portrait For SMS?
I've realized that I've really grown used to portrait over the past 2+ years with portrait for composing sms messages. While I always wanted landscape, as soon as it was available I quickly reverted back to portrait. It seems I usually want to fire off messages quickly and I've gotten pretty good at single-hand typing in portrait.Anyone else sticking with portrait and gave up on landscape?
