IPhone :: Loud Ticking Sound When Make Or Recieve Calls
Apr 16, 2009
its b een crashing and just plain freezing up on me this new issue is is a loud ticking sound when i make or recieve calls.it sounds like interference but im never near something that could give off interference when im on the phone also ill be calling out to someone and there will be no kind of tone or ringing but it will still show im connected. this is getting really frustrated. i guess ill have to get a new phone.
Have had this V9m for about a year. All of a sudden I get a message on the phone from Verizon saying "this phone's number has changed" and asking me to setup the contacts backup app again. Didn't, but called Verizon instead to see what was up. HW tech patiently took me through several different diagnostic steps and while we could get the phone to activate and MAKE calls, the phone would not ring when called, it went straight to voicemail. Fortunately I had a second V9m that I'd gotten on eBay for just this situation, activated it right away, it works great. The Verizon tech said a store MIGHT be able to fix the issue but he doubted it. Just wondering if anyone's seen this before, if it's a common problem, etc. The phone has never given me problems except a few times over the past two months it would get INCREDIBLY HOT all by itself in my pocket, as if the phone was on and in use (which it was not). Figured it might be a wonky battery (I have several I use, all Moto OEM) but I never looked too much into it. Not sure if that matters but anyway. IT: should also say that I just the other day activated a new phone on this line, then re-activated the V9m soon thereafter via the web without a problem. Did this so I can sell the NE2 phone (LG Env2) on eBay
I own a pearl 8100 which has worked great until recently. I have not been able to make or recieve any calls, or send and recieve any texts. The only thing i have to go on is a flashing blue arrow on the top right hand corner. It usually doesnt come on until i try to make a call which always results in a call fail. Not sure if this is relevant or not, but the phone is unlocked. It was originally from T-mobile, and its currently on ATT's network.Things I've tried. -Hard reset -Memory reset -Turning off the radio signal and back on -firmware is up to date I'm not sure what information is necessary to solve the problem, but if you need to know anything just lemme know.
People are saying that my curve from alltel make a crazy sound as soon as I answer a call sorta like when you are calling fax machine. I hear it too. I always have my phone on vibrate. Any thoughts? It happens just when I first answer then goes away.
My Electrify reboots itself randomly when I am attempting to make a call. A few times during other things as well. Sometimes it also has a very loud crackling sound on the call. Here is what I have tried so far; Uninstalling task killer app Updating phone software Replacing/formatting SD card Factory reset x2 My wireless company said they get 3 people per day with the same problem with Electrify.
For the last two days, I havent been able to make or receive calls because I either have no sound or static. I was chatting with AT&T online support and he tried resetting and other various options to fix it but finally advised me to take it in to a store and get a new sim card. I just did that and still, I do not have sound. I havent damaged my phone in any way, I havent dropped it or wet it....I checked to see if its still under warranty but of course, it expired. What are my options?
For the first time, my Bionic started making a sound, somewhat between a slow crackle and a tick (although not perfectly regular in timing), that was audible with the phone setting on a sofa cushion. It sounded like it was coming from the area of the mic, but I suppose it was coming from the speaker on the rear near the bottom. I was not actively using any apps at the time, although Google Music and Pocket Casts had both been used (via Bluetooth headset) earlier today.
I tried sleeping the phone and waking it up, and the sound resumed. Power off, waiting a minute or two, and then power on seems to have fixed it, at least for the 10 or so minutes since I restarted it. For the record, this phone has been nearly 100% reliable -- the battery cover has never been off since leaving the Verizon store, about a week after launch.
I need help forums my N97 cannot send messages but i can make calls and recieve messages and calls.I took the phone to my operator and they updated the firmware but after it still did not work so they said to take it to the nearest nokia care centre. Would anyone know whats going on with the phone? It only happened today after i turned my phone off. I have had my N97 since june.
This device is about 4 months old, for the last 3 days I can't hear anything when taking or making calls.it says connected and the person on the other side can hear me but I can't hear them unless I switch to speaker mode.
Yesterday I heavily used my phone. I did many video calls, used the internet, downloaded and saved a "configuration SMS message" etc.
Especially after I downloaded and saved a configuration SMS message, I realized that the phone's speed/performance slowed down a bit. The configuration message was about Mobile TV's Access Point Connection Settings. The configuration message was saved under "Access Points" menu..
Then I realized the phone's sounds seemed like I turned the volume down. Sounds like "warning tones" sounded "faded down" or something. It was weird.
Also, when I recieve a SMS message, there was no sound at all. I have that Nokia's very traditional "Message" tune, but it was like the phone was in "Silent Mode." I was recieving messages very quietely. No "sound" in notifiying.
I switched off the phone, then took the battery out and restarted the phone, and everything was back to normal. The speed, the sound in recieving a SMS message and all.
I have a Sony HCB-30 hands-free device fitted to my car which worked with every other handset I've ever had. Bluetooth on the Nokia 5800 will pair OK but switches automatically to a Silent Profile. I can neither receive or make calls as there is no sound. I also tried connecting to my TomTom Go 920, it again pairs OK but drops the connection at random, then picks it up again and eventually loses it completely. This has never happened before with Sony, Samsung or other phones I have used.
I spent more than £10 on the phone waiting for 2nd line support at Nokia, they didn't even answer and the Help Centre can do nothing but read from a script. Other issues with this model are video incompatibility, system crashing and a poor email system (including Nokia messaging). The battery life is also the worst I have ever experienced as it needs a charge every 24 hours. Overall pretty dire and I think I will be buying an iPhone after all.
i have had my phone for about a year and a half and recently just upgraded to the iphone 4, i gave the iphone 3gs to my mum to use and suddenly when ever she makes a call or recieves a call the phone wont go back meaning she keeping pushing buttons such as mute etc. i was wondering if there was anyting i can do?
I recently bought two iPhone 4S.. but one of it has a loud buzzing sound during vibration mode but the other one is perfectly fine..I bought it from Maxis center.Went to maxis center to ask for an exchange but they couldn't exchange a new one for me. They said if they were to send the phone back to Apple, I would probably get back my same old buzzing phone because it wasn't hardware error. Is there any other possible way to exchange??
So, I have a friend who I talk to on the phone quite often. She has an AT&T 3G phone not an iPhone some other phone. It's like a RAZR or something but keep in mind that it's 3G.When I used to talk to her on my old iPhone, in the middle of our conversation I'd randomly hear this loud screech. It sounded almost like someone screaming bloody murder, but it was clearly some kind of electrical interference or glitch of some kind... Well, ever since I got my iPhone 3G, people have been telling me that they hear it from my phone now! I don't hear a thing but the person on the other end will randomly be like, "What was that? Has anyone else experienced this?It sounds to me like an AT&T 3G issue over an iPhone issue since it happens on other 3G phones.Maybe it's something with 3G in my area?
My phone will not make calls, but I can still text just fine. I want to make sure if it's a network issue or if something happened with the phone itself. I have never dropped it and I always have the projective screens/covers.
I have a bold on three uk, love the fone hate the network! Can some1 help, when I select the 3G signal ppl can not call my phone! It goes straight to my answer fone, even if they r sat next to me!When I try n call out it jus says call failed! Also there is a 45+min delay in my texts coming n going.Three deny there is anything wrong with there network or the fone! So why am I paying a monthly fee for a service I'm not receiving!I have tried ALL official OS updates and the leaked .411 but still have these problems
Nokia 6233 was the loudest phone ever and it still is, and of course the sound was clear and loud. Now Nokia are producing new music phones with the name XpressMusic and pity they arent louder than Nokia 6233.
The 6233 wasnt a music phone but it still its perfect for music, why would someone need a loud phone? Of course for listening to music.
So i was wondering maybe Nokia should make their XpressMusic real, i mean really for music and they defininately need to be loud as 6233.
Have a problem with my nokia n95 8gb 2. after downloading music from my pc,i have to have my phone on loud speakerto answer and recive calls. i have updated my software, tried restarting the phone on factory settings, but no luck so far. the phone rings ok and everything seems good, but once i answer or make a call i has to be put on loudspeaker to hear.
When talking to my girlfriend who has Samsung A-727, there is a LOUD beep sound every once in awhile. Sometimes it happens more often and sometimes not at all. It is just one loud beep.If you have experienced this, you would know because it is deafening. I only experience it when talking with her, no one else. I have the LG CU-500 and did not experience this beep when she had her old phone. Has anyone else experienced this beep?
I have a BB Curve 9900 running the latest software 7.1.0 bundle 1310. I set up the auto on at 6am and off at 1am which is later than I go to sleep and earlier than I awake, just in case I have any emergency calls, but without using up my battery. However, the sound that comes on when this function is happening is so loud that it wakes me up in the next room. Is there any way to turn off the notifier sound that plays when the phone is turning on and off? I have tried to change the phone profile but it doesn't affect this.If there is no way to turn off the sounds for this function, I don't understand how it is useful. You may as well just plug in the phone and put the profile on "phone only" every night.
I can make calls but I cant receive all of the calls. What happends is the phone rings then you swipe the screen to receive then there is nothing but the call has been answered, sometimes(not all) I can put on the microphone to fix this but this does nt work all the time.
The person is on the other end and No "mute has not been hit" the only thing i can think of is a loose wire internally or a software problem?? that does not mean its right, hence I am asking?
Not sure what happened but I can't receive calls or make calls. Incoming calls go straight to VM - outgoing calls, nothing. I can't send SMS either. I thought it was a MMS that tripped up the phone - I took out the battery and replaced it. I've also powered it off and on again - still nothing. I am receiving the occasional email tho.
Can someone tell me why i keep getting a connection error message when i try to call out or recieve calls. This has only been happening for the last 2 days. It connects out going and incoming calls sometimes but mostly the error message appears. Is it a problem with my settings or the actual phone?
I tried to find out if there is already a solution for this one, but no luck. While I'm listening the music with my C7 with headset connected and the SMS arrives, the indication sound is totally mind blasting. Is there some where a place to turn it down while using headset on my C7?
When I have my Storm in holster with sound set to LOUD and I get an alert for an email or text message, etc and DO NOT check it, the Storm automatically changes sound profile to VIBRATE! Why? How can I stop this from happening? Also can I get Storm to give repeated alerts until I check it?
HiI have had complaints from people I am speaking to of loud static/banging noises. These noises happen intemitantly with no real pattern, virtually everytime I make a phone call. I cannot hear them on my end though! I have been told that this is extremely annoying, almost painfull, and people no longer want to talk to me!
I'm considering getting a blackberry curve on AT&T. My old E61 would put the EDGE connection on hold to allow an incoming call through. Will the BlackBerry 8300 do the same? Or do the calls go straight to voicemail? My apologies if this has been discussed before.I couldn't find the answer anywhere.
I found out that when I try to dial something in the "Phone" section (Phone icon), there is a sound - how do I disable it?Also I use a pre-paid package, when I check my fone balance, there is always a network notification sound that is REALLY loud (!) and there is absolutely no way to reduce the volume or make it silence.I work at office and I want to silence the key tone when dialing in Phone section, along as reduce sound or silence the network notification sound when check balance.Atm the only way is to switch to Silence or Alerts Off modes.
I previously used EDGE and couldnt recieve calls while downloading. It would say that my cell is off if u call me. So i wanted to know if we have the benefit of both downloading and talking at the same time in 3G. pls answer the question if u r srue abt it.
maybe this is normal, but for some reason when I put my Storm on its Loud Profile, it puts out a strange alert I've never heard before.I can only describe it as a sort of mechanical sounding chime sound effect. It's definitely NOT one of the alerts/ringtones on my phone (preloaded or otherwise.)It happens at strange intervals... sometimes five minutes apart, sometimes ten, sometimes fifteen. It goes away if I switch back to the Normal Profile. Can someone let me know if this is normal for this to happen? And if so why it happens?
I have got a new Blackberry Bold 9000 and was facing a strange problem. Initially I had the SIM: Action Barred error (Call failed due to SIM toolkit control error. Please try again later).I tried my Bold with my second number SIM and had no problems at all, so I just went and got a new SIM for the number that prompted the error (And to which my BB account is linked). Here's where it gets really weird. After I installed the new SIM, I could make and receive calls fine; for around 5 minutes. After 5 minutes or probably after one call, when I hang up, my Bold shows me a good meaty full signal bar, BUT I cannot make any outgoing calls, and when I try to dial to the Bold with the new SIM, I get a Phone switched off or Out of Service Area message, from any other number.
Why is this happening after exactly one call or 4 - 5 minutes of being on? I tried my second SIM (A really old one, same network operator, and it had no problems after 2 days of continuous testing). Popped in my new SIM, and I get the same problem, of working well for 5 minutes or just one call, after which I cannot make or recieve calls, with a full signal bar. I have switched to 2G priority and a 3G priority, (Also tried Data off), with no luck on the Voice calls problemAlso I have to pay my service provider every time I get a new SIM, so I really would only want to do that if I cant do it any other cheaper way (Free). If anyone has faced this problem, I would be obliged if you could guide me on how I could fix this.
I just recently bought a used i880 and a brand new boostmobile sim card everything works fine on the phone so far except for the fact that I can not receive incoming phone calls.
I talked to boost tech support and they said I should master reset my phone but I do not have the 6 digit pass (its not 000000 and the previous owner does not know). I took it to my local sprint store but they had no idea they tried to reset it in a different phone for some reason...
I already unbranded my phone using wotanserver, but does the audio drivers make w810i earpiece volume SUPER loud? i would like this, because while I like the earpiece volume with most callers, sometimes verizon people are super quiet, and i want the earpiece volume to be loud. anyway to easily update the audio drivers without flashing using phonexs, seeing as my phone is already unbranded? whats the easiest way to go about this?
