View 8 RepliesI've paired my 5233 via Bluetooth to both home and work Macs (G4 & Intel). File browsing and transfer via Bluetooth File Exchange works flawlessy on both. However, when I connect to the other Mac, even while it's already on favorites and it shows on the list, the phone asks for the passkey, as does the Mac. After this I can connect and disconnect as many times as I want from that Mac, no passkey needed anymore. However, if I now connect to the other Mac, it again asks for passkey, so I have to key it on both phone and Mac. Again, I can connect and reconnect from that one without need for passkey... until I go to the other Mac, it again asks for it.
I never try to pair the phone to the two Macs at once.
I am curious why on the 'Paired Devices' list on the Bluetooth menu on the phone there is only *one* device, the computer, and no matter what shortname I set when connected to any one of the two Macs, theres only one, shouldn't there be 2 devices there on the list, the individual work and home machines? I've set them as 'Authorized', both on the phone and on the Macs, why does it keep asking for the passkey when I change from one machine to the other?
I have my FaceTime set up on both devices, wifi on full bars, but it says FaceTime failed when I call. I also call from both devices at once and it makes no difference. I know the information is correct.

View 23 Replies View Relatedafter watching the promo video I noticed that is stated both caller and receiver have to be on wi-fi to use Facetime. Ok doesn't that really avoid having the ability to chat via video anywhere as advertised. Now when I am on business trip I have to hunt around for wi-fi just to use FaceTime so what is the video chat really gaining me?

View 24 Replies View RelatedWondering if there's been any talk of a hack via the Jailbreak that would allow FaceTime functionality via 3G reception? Figure it's just a matter of time to trick the phone into thinking it's on a wifi connection (if it hasn't already been done). Any thoughts?
View 15 Replies View RelatedWell if you live long distance from your significant other, there is another possible use for Facetime as long as you both have an i4.
I do not think I need to post the exact topic but funny someone I know doesn't see their partner because of traveling, and it occurred to me what a good feature can do for a relationship
So now that we have FaceTime back on our Jailbroken phones let's figure out a way to get FaceTime going over 3G. I tried 3G unrestrictor for the Phone application but that didn't do the trick.

View 24 Replies View RelatedHey guys I have a question. Me and my cousin both have iPhone 4s, both jailbroken and both have my3g. But everytime we use FaceTime with eachother the call only lasts exactly 1 min. It's very weird. Does anyone know the problem. And we have tried it many different. Times and at one point even in the same house and that lasted 58 seconds. It just says FaceTime call failed.
View 24 Replies View RelatedToo bad the jailbreak is gone for new iphone's used 3G unrestrictor on a 3G facetime call today. It worked as good as wifi. Well, plus I am still on the unlimited plan. so I suppose that people would not use it then. But, why do they limit such a great feature of the phone. Plus it needs to be opened to Skype, etc. then people would really use it.

I bought a 4S and have used my old 4 to setup FaceTime with no problems before. All of the sudden I try to do it today and it was not working. There is no SIM in my old 4 as it is now in my 4S. When I try to use FaceTime on either phone the one that receives freezes up after I accept but sound can be passed from phone to phone. The phone making the FaceTime call looks fine but has a blank (black and reads paused) screen. I have read around that I need a SIM installed in thee SIMless phone.

I had a new iPhone 4S, and the issue that I am experiencing until now is regarding the FaceTime since I don't have it in my iPhone 4S. I already checked on the Contacts > Info: Send Message, Share Contact, Add to Favorites are the only available button. Even in the Settings which is supposed to be located between the Phone and Safari. And also, FaceTime with Slide Bar (OFF) under Settings > Phone is NOT available.
