IPhone :: Custom Calendar Alerts?
When setting an event reminder in the calendar function, I am only able to set an alert 2 days in advance, what about 3 weeks in advance, 4 days, etc? Using iCal i can set the alert to ANY custom amount of time in advance....PLEASE fix this APPLE...I did notice that I am able to set reminders in iCal and the alerts sync fine back to my iPhone. This makes no sense....?

IPhone :: Custom Alerts For Mail / SMS
I have an iPhone 4, and I'm a bit annoyed with the level of control I have over the different alerts.I want to be able to separately control sound and vibrate for each type of alert (ringtone, email, SMS, ect.)Right now, it seems that if I have ringtone volume enabled, enabling alerts for new mail enables both sound and vibrate, and there is no choice to have new mail alerts as vibrate only without silencing the ringtone as well.
I like to hear incoming calls, although I get a lot of mail so it gets annoying hearing the new mail alert every 15 minutes. It would also be nice to change the vibrate patterns and alert tones for all of the different alerts, and to create profiles for quick changing

BB Bold 9000 :: Way To Do Custom Alerts For Emails?
What I'm looking to do is essentially get a custom alert for an email sender/contact. I know how to set up custom ringtones for a contact (phone) but is there a way to do custom alerts for emails? I get a lot of emails (who doesn't) and only need to be immediately alerted for one sender so I can ignore the rest and check them at my leisure. Is such a thing possible?

BB Torch :: Custom Alerts While Device Is Password Locked?
Since upgrading to BlackBerry Torch device I am unable to configure custom alerts for a specific email address. The device is silent for all email except when email arrives from a specific address (for on-call support purposes) .The alerts are actually working for as long as device is not password locked. As soon as I lock the device, whenever the email arrives it remains silent. If I simply unlock the device the device will respond as expected. The devices uses 6.0 Bundle 2647 (v18.104.22.1680, Platform 22.214.171.124) on Bell Carrier network.

BB Curve :: 9360 Custom Sound Alerts For Messages?
i have a brand spanking new BlackBerry Curve 9360 that just arrived yesterday. It is great apart from this very frustrating small prob. I can not customise my message alerts for individual people in my address book. When I click on "try it" only the LED button flashes and there is no sound or vibration. I am trying to get the sound and vibrate to play as "active profile" but it just won't. I can override it and have custom volume and vibrate that plays no matter what the profile but as I sometimes like to set my main profile to vibrate or silent, it won't do.
So far, to fix it, I have tried: Wiping profile and sounds from the blackberry softwareFull factory resetCreating my own profile and using that instead of "normal" or any of the other preset onesLoads of battery pulls before and/or after any changesI have also had a few different people text me to make sure the problem isn't just the "try it" feature. It isn't. The sound that plays is always the default message sound for whatever the default profile is.

BB Bold 9700 :: How To Set Ringtone In Custom Alerts To Active Profile?
With the new options to set custom "contact alerts" for phone and messages I have run into a problem. I have multiple people with custom 'phone' ringers, but I do not want any of them to have custom 'messages' ringers. I want them to match what the profile ringer is for messages. Is there a way to set 'ringtone' in 'custom alerts' to 'active profile'? or is there some other way to stop the custom contact alerts for messages?

BB Curve :: Setting Custom Ring Tones/Alerts For 9300?
I have been trying to set custom ring tones for certain callers. I have tried changing the ring tone by going to Contacts, selecting the contact, and changing the ringtone listed under Custom Ring Tones/Alerts for the contact. My Sound and Alert Profile is set to normal. I have also tried going to Sound and Alert Profile and clicking on Change Sounds and Alerts. From there I have selected Sounds for Contacts and tried to Add Contact Alert. After doing this my phone still rings with the ring tone for the Normal Profile. How can I ensure that the ringtone for the custom alert comes up for these contacts?

BB Storm 9530/9500 :: Assigning Custom Ringtones / Alerts To Contacts?
Despite having my Storm for a month now, I just started adding custom ringtones and started assigning ringtones to specific contacts. One issue I'm having (and I haven't been able to find any other threads with the same issue) is that when I assign a custom ringtone for a contact, it then defaults their messaging tone to BBPro_Sanguine.
While I can assign their messaging tone to any other tone without a problem, I find it odd that there isn't an option to just use the active sound profile tones instead. This is especially frustrating because even if I assign a messaging tone, there is no differentiation for email, SMS, MMS, etc. Is this just a BB thing that I have to live with or is this an issue with the Crackman hybrid I'm running (I've never run an official OS, since day 1 I've always had some kind of hybrid)?

IPhone :: Calendar Alerts Not Working
I have an iPhone 3Gs which syncs with my MacBook Pro via MobileMe. I'm using the most recent OS for both the phone and the notebook. If I create an event in iCal and set an alarm for the event it goes off on my notebook, but not on my iPhone. If I set an event on my iPhone with an alarm it goes off in both locations. Alerts are set to "On" for the calendar application on the iPhone. This worked properly prior iOS 4.0.

BB (RIM) :: Not Getting Email Alerts On BB From Microsoft Outlook Calendar
I've always gotten email alerts about meetings and events from my Microsoft Office Outlook Calendar. The meeting or event on the BB phone would be a series of numbers, with the event and time, starting in 30 minutes. Suddenly, today it stopped. And I can't figure out how this was orchestrated in the first place, since I've had the phone for a few years. I don't think it's my Folder Mirror, or my Plaxo. Is it a setting on Microsoft Office Outlook? A setting on BB Desktop Manager? I've checked my settings, and I should be receiving notifications.

BB Curve 83xx :: How To Make Sound Notification For Calendar Alerts
I posted this in the AT&T forum, but I'm not sure that is the right place, so here goes again.I recently got a BB 8310 Curve and have had no problem syncing up with my Outlook for contacts, appointments, etc. What I have not been able to figure out is how to make a sound notification on my BB.
I go to Profiles > Advanced > DV1 (the profile I created) > Edit > Calendar, and then the following fields filled in as:
(The in & out of holster are set the same):
In or Out: Vibrate + Tone
# of Beeps: 2
Repeat Notification: LED flashing
# of Vibrations: 2
Notify During Calls: Yes
Is "calendar" where I need to have those notifications set up, if so what might be wrong? Do I need to set the Task section up to match the Calender options? I have also made sure that my calendar options default reminder time, etc. The only field I'm not sure about is Enable Quick Entry which I have set to yes.

BB Curve 8300 :: Calendar Alerts Not Alerting - Tried Battery Pull
After searching the forums for this exact topic I finally found it. But after no responses, I decided to start a new one. Apologies for the repeat but I keep my life in my phone and these missing alerts are really not making me a happy BB user.
I'm using a BB Curve 8330 with v126.96.36.199 and I'm on Verizon.
I've done all the steps that were noted in the manuals, on BB website and that were suggested here for getting the calendar alerts to work and NOTHING has helped. I've tried pulling the battery and stuff like that. I set myself multiple test events and nothing happens like it should. All of my profiles are set to have the phone "tone alert" out of holster and "vibrate only" when in holster. It does neither of these.
Now I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but I have 3 e-mails and a facebook set-up on the phone that come up as options when working in the calendar. I don't use outlook nor I do use the calendars in any of my emails/facebook. Again, I wouldn't think this mattered if I'm entering the events manually. But if it does, please let me know what I should do.

BB Storm 9530/9500 :: Make Voicemail Alerts Different Than Sms Message Alerts
I was very annoyed that I got a "text message" whenever I recieved a voicemail. I was being alerted by the same tone as my sms messages, so it led me to think I had a text message (especially since it is borat telling me I have one). I tried and tried to get it to either go away, or better yet play a different tone so I knew the difference without having to look. I am slowly becoming familiar with all the settings the storm has to offer, and came across an idea to make my wishes come true. I saw that the sms message was titled "Voice Mail (my number)". So I thought I may be able to set a custom tone to MY number. Well look at that, an idea of mine worked for once. So in conclusion, if you want your voicemail alert to be distinctive, add your own number to your contacts and set a custom tone to messages for yourself. I hope I have helped some people, I know I will love the storm even more after figuring this one out.
Step by step nstructions for Storm users only, I am not familiar with other phones that may have different settings:
Go to "Contacts", press -BB button-, select "New contact". Add YOUR info (the important part is the exact number associated to your phone). Press -BB Button- and select "Save".
Go to the home screen. Click on the sound indicator on the top left of the screen (looks like a speaker with ))) after it. Scroll to the bottom of that list and select "Set Contact Alerts".
Click on "Contact Names", click "Add Name" on the menu that pops up. Find your contact info (the one you entered at the beginning of this) and select it.
Select "Messages", and under "Ring Tone" you can select any ringtone you like, and adjust other settings if you would like. But the ringtone is the important part.
When you have edited those settings, press the -BB Button- and select "Save". Press the -BB button- again and select "Save".

BB Pearl Flip :: 8220 Edit Custom Word List (not Custom Dictionary)
8220 running OS 4.6...Have searched high and low and cannot find any info on this. How do I edit the Custom Word List (database name: CustomWordsCollection) that SureType creates? I have numerous misspelled and garbage words in there. (Note that this a completely separate list from the custom dictionary list.)
This thread [forums dot crackberry dot com/f86/autotext-dictionary-229646] addressed the issue but did not come up with a means of editing the CustomWordsCollection database.Using Desktop Manager, I exported the database as an ipd. I can look at the ipd with Amber Blackberry Converter (ABC), but I do not see a way to actually edit it. ABC will edit contacts and other databases, but not the CustomWordsCollection (best that I can tell).
I opened the ipd in Notepad++, which gave me some ability to edit it, but the file structure of an ipd is rather complex. It was clear enough how to correct a misspelled word, but not at all clear how to remove an entry, as there are a tremendous number of leading and trailing characters surrounding each entry.
