May 12, 2012If I create a new contact on my iphone and I am not connected to either wi-fi or the network, the new contact doesn't appear on the icloud sync, even after I then am near a wi-fi connection. (I tend to keep my network connectivity off because I have a very small data plan)
I have tried a manual backup from the iphone at the time I do get to my wi-fi. That still doesn't recognize the new contacts.
If I then edit the contact, maybe change one letter or number, it is then synced up.
PS: The phone contacts says 380 contacts. Sorry I can't capture that screen to upload it here.

Apr 3, 2012I have iPhone of the first generation and have recently bought a new 4S. How can I back up my old iPhone contacts to my PC and then transfer them to my new iPhone?
I obviously cannot use the iCloud with the old iPhone. I also do not want to sync the iPhone with iTunes in order to transfer the contacts to the PC since I am on a new laptop and the music on the iPhone will get deleted during sync with my new empty iTunes library. Apr 6, 2012I have a PC, iPhone and iPad on which contacts, reminders and calendar are turned on in iCloud.
Everything used to work fine. I missed a meeting on Thursday because it did not snych into me iPhone. I noticed contact changes were not synching. I turned of Contact Synching on the iPhone, selected keep contact on iPhone.
All contacts were erased on the iPhone. Turned synch back on and nothing downloads to the iPhone I checked iCloud on the web and the contacts are there.

All the contacts sync with WIndows but NOT all the numbers witihin the contacts. For e.g. the numbers stored in my iphone under type "iphone" do not sync nor do numbers stored under a custom category. last time I refreshed my iphone from my backup I lost a lot of numbers.

Mar 12, 2012Yesterday I decided to sync my iPhone to a different PC which my husband uses to sync his ipod. Before I sync-ed I upgraded itunes to v10. When I tried to sync however I noticed that the contacts section in the Info tab had nothing in the list (i.e. The title reads "Sync Contacts with " followed by a list but the list is empty) and when I click the Configure button nothing happens. Anyway I checked the option to sync contacts anyway but got an error saying "itunes was unable to load dataclass information from sync services."
Stupidly I then chose to restore my iphone as suggested in the Summary tab and thereby lost all of the contacts on my phone which I of course cannot sync back.
