IPhone :: Charging Not Supported With This Accessory
May 24, 2012
Just got my iphone 3gs today. I charged it once but went to put it on charger again and got an error message "charging is not supported with this accessory". It's the same charger cable that came with the phone and that I used earlier. Plugged into the same computer.
After installing iOS5.1 I have been having trouble with my phone. Last night the voice controll kept coming on and calling contacts.and the home button quit working. I decided to do a software resore 1/2 way through the process i tunes quit recognizing my phone. I kept putting the phone in DFU mode and finaly got the restore to work after about 4 hours. now today when I plug my phone in to charge. a warning come up "Charging not Supported with this accessory".
I am using the plug and cord that came with the phone. Iphone 4 bought in 11/2011.
i got an iphone 3gs for christmas and it went fantastic, i jailbroke it and got everything i needed. in february, i came home from college and saw a message saying charging is not supported with this accessory when i tried to charge it with the charger i have been using for a month! so i still had my warranty on it and i sent it off. i recently got a new one (refurbished) on friday so i have had it exactly a week now. all was well once again and just a second ago i got the message again! but this time it wasnt permentant, i unplugged it and plugged it back it and it was fine for around 5 mins and did it again!
i am using the mains to charge it and it is a USB plugged into a plug which goes in the mains, i am using 5.0.1
every time i plug my charger in to charge the phone it pops up saying 'charging is not supported with this accessory' i dont think i have had any water damae to it and it has been working fine for months no its suddenly just started to do it.
Recently a weird message came up with my iPhone 5s shows "this accessory may not be supported" when charging to 90%. I'm using the genuie lightning cable coming with the iPhone, my phone updated to 7.1.2. This problem came up only in the last few days....I tried plugging and unplugging again and again, this issue still on...
Charging is not supported with this accessory, with a yellow exclamation triangle, this pops up on my phone even when it is not charging, I am using the original charger and have also used my sons which is the same phone and charger, anybody know why it's giving me this message
I have an iPhone 4s. I have downloaded the most unto date iOS version, then plugged the apple charger in. The phone came up with a message stating "charging not supported with this accessory". However, if I hold the charger into the connector, this sometimes charges the phone. Seems strange this only occurred after iOS update"
Info: iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1, happened on 1st charge after update
I have been using my iPhone 4S inside my 2008 Scion TC since Februrary, when I bought my iPhone. Just like my 2G iPod touch, it give me the error "Charging not supported on this accessory" For this reason i use the Scosche adapter. Using this dongle, allows the device to both charge and play music. It was working perfectly on my iPhone 4S, and today a friend told me that his ipod touch 1G would not charge or play on his 2008 Infiniti G35.
I told him about my adapter, and walked to my car, brought my factory cable along with dongle to his Infiniti G35, plugged in the cable, but his car would not see my iPhone 4S, with or without the scosche dongle, or with his cable with or without the scosche dongle. He tried his iPod tough 1G, which WILL now charage and play music on his iPod touch 1G.
This is where I am baffled, I am happy that he can get his working with the scosche adapter, when he buys one. I then walked back to my Scion, and my Scion now tells me "iPod Comm. Error," if I then unplug and plug it back in, I see "Bye Bye, iPod" then it acts as if the iPod is not connected at all. I tried with and without my scosche adapter. It WILL charge with the scosche adapter connected, but will not play music, this is true, even when the Scion is not seeing the iPhone 4S. If I connect without the scosche adapter, it will give me the familliar "charging not supported with this accessory." All signs are now pointing that the Scion SEES that the iPhone is properly connected. I iniatally thought that maybe I damaged my cable in some way, by connecting it to his Infiniti, however even the part number on his infiniti provided cable is identical to the one provided by Scion.
Lately my iphone has a message popping up saying "This accessory is not made to work with iphone". My phone has nothing plugged in it at all when that pops up.
When I plug in my iPhone 5s I get a message saying "this accessory may not be supported." I have done some research and I have found that this occurs when you use non apple certified chargers, which by the way I am not using. I have also been told not to use the iPad adapted either, which I am not. So, if I am using the original cable and adapter, then why am I getting this message? What should I do?
My iPhone 5 battery will charge up to 84% without an issue.
After 84% it keeps showing messages about the accessory not being supported.
I have used official charges, Belkin chargers and a USB from my PC/Laptop all eventually show the error message.Â
After I unplug and reconnect the lightening cable the phone continues to charge but the message will reappear every so often and I have to repeat the process.
Not good over night and then when you wake in the morning the phone is already down to 50%.Â
I feel that this is a failing battery but not sure if its covered by Apple in any way.
Iphone 5 died last week. Completely dead. Can't be salvaged.  Problems began after software update and the "this accessory" may not be supported error messages and issues. Â
Trying to wait to purchase a replacement after Sept 9th I reactivated a iphone4. Working fine. On a job, using it, put it in my bag, pull it out, its COMPLETELY dead. Will not turn on. Not recognized by itunes, won't turn with any approach. It also had the software update. Â
What in the world?? Â
So now I have two dead phones and two weeks until the 6 comes out.
I have tried all the types of charging my phone but it still dosen't work I connected the charging wire to my ipod to check if it was working and it was working properly perhaps if I return it to the istore then will there be any use?
I've been getting a popup message on my iphone saying "This accessory is not supported by iphone" lately. In this site I came across the solution which is to delete System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.accessoryd.plist.How can I delete that daemon? Please help!!! The solution Apple gives me is a restoration and I'd only do that if it's really my last resort otherwise I rather not.
I don't use my handsfree so much, but it was working before without any problem. today when I tried to connect the headset I saw a message: "accessory not supported" and I found out that the button and mic were not working.I searched the forum but didn't find similar topics with original SE headset which came with my phone.I guess it is because of my latest update (from .42 to .62 baseband) cause I didn't do any thing special with my phone.
So i have 3gs and iphone 4 both new only weeks old
Problem: Updated to 5.1.1 on both devices and since all i get with legit apple charger is "charging not supported with this accessory "
Same with pc and wall charger befor you say tried different USB and cable and yes they are legit accessorys that came with the phones really not happy about this so simple stuff and apple can't even sort it out .......my guess apple needs to remove the file for third party accessorys or im just going to jailbreak it and download resupported to sort the problem out myself
Only problem is, I'm using the same exact USB cable that I have been using for nearly 2 years. It all the sudden is switching between not being supported and charging (which is annoying, as the phone is vibrating twice every 15 seconds now). Anybody have any clue?
So my iPhone keeps telling me that "charging is not supported with this accessory", the problem is that I don't have anything plugged into it. It flashes on and off but really annoying when I'm trying to do stuff on my phone. Anyone have this problem before or know how to fix it?
I have an iphone 3gs thats about two years old. It still holds a good charge, when it will charge. Lately when I plug in my phone it comes up with "Charging is not supported with this device"?
Does anyone know of an app/workaround to enable charging through cables that are no longer supported? My car has an iPhone plug which used the old Firewire charging technique (which apple no longer supports) and I can't charge my iPhone in my car. I have a converter from Griffin which lets me use it, but I'd rather just find an app/script that rids of this issue all together.Does anyone know of a solution? The original Bose Dock has the exact same problem.
