IPhone :: 3gs Become A Useless Toy After I Do A Updating OS To 5.1.1?
Jun 4, 2012
help help.. my 3gs iphone become a useless toy after i do a updating OS to 5.1.1 my reception signal drop to 1 bar or searching everytime when on the move... it is so frastruting.. how to download it to OS4 or 5.01 when it was still perfectly ok..
i have 4S, I switch to the iPhone with iOS 5.0.1 but since the iOS 5.1 release I'm changing my mind. Quickly.
My battery life has significantly worsened, downloading updates from the app store is buggy and slow, my phone regularly reboots, drops signal and slows down to a crawl.
I have tried restoring, restarting, returning, resetting every re- in the book. Nothing has helped and I see from a quick google search that I am not the only one with issues after this release. I want to downgrade to 5.0.1 as the phone was as close to perfect as a phone can be at that point. Apple, in all it's wisdom, won't allow downgrades because of the minority of people who jailbreak their phones. I am not one of that minority, all I'm interested in is having a phone that works with a battery that lasts more than half a day.
Is it just me or is the battery saver in the notification bar useless (on lollipop). It doesn't seem to do anything. It also seems it is a different battery saver from the one in the settings.
Does anyone else find voice dialing useless on their Tour? My previous phones' voice-dialing functions worked smashingly well (99% success over four years), but the Tour I just want to smash. (100% failure)
I read the threads suggested for my subject entry, and some people seem to have great luck, while others don't. I've tried the voice adaption in a silent room, I've tried turning off prompts, etc... It remains literally TOTALLY useless.
"Call Pete" results in "Please try again". I try again, and I get, "Sorry, command not recognized."
"Call Home" yields "Did you say, Call ATT Customer Service?" What?
Thinking maybe I have a bad mic element in the phone, I tried my BT headset. With that, "Call Pete" results in "Calling Ford Dealer Work 1" and then to add insult to injury, "she" says, "Next time, just say "call Ford dealer work 1".
I really used the heck out of voice dialing on my previous phones, and find it hard to believe that a much newer phone won't work at all. I hate regressing with technology.
I'm still in my 30-days "satisfaction guarantee" and I may just have to try something else. I can't believe this function is so totally useless.
I "upgraded" from 9700 to 9900. How disappointing that I can't use it for barcode scanning of books, product upc's or business card scanning. Amazon Price Check app will not even download. I even paid for apps for my old 9700 that I can't use. I expected more from bb as a business tool. I had to buy an Android(ugh) just to operate my Amazon business properly. I am a long time user of bb, but come on bb.
Is it just me or is that trackball that they have put one extremely useless and ugly? I Find without the trackball the phone looks very sleek I know blackberry is one of the guys started with trackballs even they are getting rid off it and having trackpads so what is the point of a trackball when you have a touch screen phone?
It was just announced that the IPhone 4 will have zoom for the camera, but will this be real optical zoom, or will it simply be "digital" zoom? Digital zoom is so stupid - I can duplicate the effect of digital zoom by cropping the photo with photoshop afterward. Not only is digital zoom in effect the same a cropping a photo, but because the photo was cropped from the get-go, you have LOST information that you might have wanted. What if you "zoomed in" and took the picture, but mistakenly chopped off the top of your subject's head? That portion of the head was actually being perceived by the camera's sensor, so you could have had a complete photo, but it is now lost forever thanks to digital zoom.
Given that if you go anywhere near it, it jumps towards the start of the track. However, if you disable it, then you can't focus the camera. Any workarounds? And while we're on the topic of the Music Player, I find it pretty bad that you can't exit out of the application and then have it pick up playing where you left off. I don't mean let it keep going in the background - I mean actually leave the Music Player. This seems like pretty basic functionality. Makes listening to podcasts on the phone very tedious. Am I missing something? Is there a way to pick up where you left off?
I have a question about deleting unnecessary folders from phone memory ( mass memory and memory card). When navigating through memory seeing those useless folders is a big annoyance, they basically just on the way.I'm talking about folders like - playlists, music , games, video and sound files and so on, for which I have no use. Some of them I cannot delete at all.Others after deletion reappear like nothing happened.
I'm not a child and like to keep everything organized. How can I delete those folders permanently or at least hide it?
yesterday my colleague brought blackberry 8520, i was exited about optical trackpad. but i am shocked that sensitivity is very bad even after the make it to highest one. i am planning to buy bb9700 in near future. does BB9700 even have same useless trackpad.
Why video call are not possible on xperia ray ? All 3G networks include now 3G video call at the same price as classic call. I mean by "video call" real video call, not call using internet network (over WIFI or 3G) that needs special application on both mobile phone (google talk, face time).
Video calls allows to call any mobile phone. These feature was a standard before android. My old Nokia supports it. So why SE android phones doesn't support it whereas Samsung allows it? Moreover, if video call are not supported front camera is useless whereas nearly all old 3G phones can uses video call.
I'm about to loose hope on my Nokia 5230. The first was the battery problem. It was empty in a day and a half on very moderate use (swiched off during the night). When I recalibrated the battery the things got better but still far away from the specs on Nokia site. And yes; I have tried all the tricks to save the energy (GSM only, 30% screen brightness, no bluetooth,....).
The second I discovered, that the GPS is basicly useless. It wont lock on the sattelites no matter what. The GPS was one of the main reasons to buy 5230. If someone got lucky to find some sattelites - how good is the accuracy? Is in the range of 6 meters or less as with Garmin?
Now I have discovered, that the clock is not showing the right time. It is loosing minutes as someone said to it that one hour has only 59 or 58 minutes. I still have to discover the logic how the clock is counting minutes. I have tried with and without automatic time update. By the way; the phone has the last firmware.
So if the clock is useless then the alarm is useless and I can't use it on my buisness trips.
Is there anyone else with the same problems? Is there any solution to this clock problem? Some settings I've missed?
Someone would say; for the price everything can not be perfect.
So, is this the logic (Nokia logic):
-we will put in the GPS, but because of a low price it won't find some sattelites
-we will put the battery in the phone but because of the low price it won't last more than two days
-the phone will have the clock but because of the low price it will not show the right time
i need help with many issues that i face after update to ICS...
1. laggy response form touchscreen. 2. calendar sync (it doesn't show name of events from Facebook only shows events bar with no name on it...) 3. how to remove useless applications provided by SONY coz its using up all my internal memory. 4. voice recognition not working in message section, it says failed to connect to server. 5. camera not functioning properly, it takes image perfectly but at the end of click it shows a scrap image( so basically you have to go to gallery and check how was the image).
I bought the Lapdock with my Bionic and got it all home let everything get charged up and started to try to use the Lapdock. I get 3-4 Firefox pages up and going and I keep getting a Low Memory error and it wants me to close app's I don't really have many things running but the Bionic indicates that 69% of the memory is in use on the droid and a few percentage for webtop firefox. I can't seem to kill off enough things to keep the error from popping up.
I've got a Nokia 6220 Classic and over the past few weeks, certain keypads have started acting strangely. Firstly it was the [7] key. When I pressed the keypad nothing happened so I hit it a few more times and eventually the number came up. As time went by, the problem spread to [1], [4] and [*/+] until finally none of them react at all anymore. As a result, I can turn the phone on but I can't enter my pin-code to access the menu etc.Has anybody encountered this type of thing before? I'm at my wits end and am just wondering if anyone has any words of advice that might help me. I've obtained an early exit fee from my service provider so now I just need to find out if it's going to cost more to fix at a Nokia Care Center.
I had my phone stolen in December and it has since been recovered, despite its 3 weeks spent in a wet ditch the phone still turns on and appears to work. My problem is that I contacted my service provider O2 and requested that they unlock the handset so I can use it again. I was told by them that once a Blackberry handset has been reported stolen and blocked then it can never be used again. Can someone verify this as, if this is correct I would of never of blocked the phone in the first place if there was a slim chance of it being returned. So my lovely blackberry torch is currently a very expensive paperweight.
I TRIED updating my nokia 5230 by using OVI suite and during update my nokia 5230 suddenly turned off and updating stopped. I disconnected usb cable and tried to turn on the set but it wont turn on. I tried to recharge it and restart it but it also didnt work. Now its still off and I don`t know what to do anymore.

I tried to turn on the phone but PROBLEM was same!RESTARTING constantly. Please does anybody know, how to fix this PROBLEM and is it maybe a factory error?
I replaced my iPhone 4 yesterday at the Apple store and they gave me a new one with version 4.0. Well, I want to update my phone only to 4.0.1..not 4.0.2. Is there a way this can be done without going to 4.0.2 through itunes or anywhere else?
I have went to an apple store for iOS upgrade in my iPhone 3GS. They told me that I have to pay Service Charges for upgradation..!!Do i have to pay for upgradation of iOS as the device is still under warranty?
I'm trying to update my iPhone from 4.0 to 5.01. When I go through the process of backing up and then downloading the new version, I get the following response: "The iPhone could not be updated because the firmware file is not compatible".
The reason that I am doing this in the first place is that I recently got a "personal hot spot" for my new iPad. I'm told that I can't access my "personal hot spot" with the older version thus the attempt to update.
