IPhone :: 3g Has Error 1611 When Trying To Restore
Apr 11, 2012
Does anyone know how to get around this? It just comes up with error 1611 and says cannot restore? Is this a hardware failure? Where do I send the phone? It's less than a year old!
I agreed to give my old 1st gen iPhone to a friend of mine (as I've been on a 3G right now). I went and pulled it out of the storage shed, plugged it in, and booted it up. It came up just fine, prompting me to insert a SIM card (I had the phone unlocked).
Before giving it to him, I decided to update to the latest OS (which I had done on my 3G the week prior). So I plug it in to my MacBook, download the latest 3.1.3 update for the original iPhone through iTunes, run it through the latest version of Pwnage to get an ipsw, put the iPhone in restore mode, and update from the .ipsw.
I received an error, and the iPhone seems to have been bricked. Now, when turned on, it goes straight to DFU mode (showing a cable and the iTunes logo). When I try to update, the iPhone reboots at the "preparing iPhone" stage, and then iTunes errors out with:
"The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1611)."I have tried this from my MacBook, Hackintosh (which errored out with (2006)?), and Windows 7 PC. The first machine I tried it on was the MacBook.
I was updating to newest beta frimware and during the restore I got this error "Iphone can not be restored an unknown error occurred (37)." I tried to give the phone a hard reset but I have not been able to get the phone to respond. I also tried the same steps used to put the phone into DFU mode to see if it would restart and no change. I am not really sure what to do here, any tips would help.
I cannot restore my iphone 3gs keep getting a -1 error at the end of the restore process, now my phone stuck in restore mode and isnt reconised on my computer or itunes
So I saw I had an update the other night so I decided to download it. After I thought it was through, I check my phone and it says plug into iTunes. I didn't think anything of it so I plug it in. An alert saying my iPhone is in recovery mode. So I do the whole restore thing and it doesn't work. It gets about 3/4 of the way done then says error 29. I have tried it many times, as well as updating my iTunes and different cables even restarting my computer. Is there anything else that I can do?
So basically had to restore to 4.02 and now i cant downgrade to 4.01 keep getting 3014 error when trying to downgrade with tiny umbrella. Anyone else with this issue or any ideas?
tonight I updated itunes to the latest version 9.2, then I check to see whether my actual iphone software needed to be updated. it said the new version available was the 4 one.
once it went to finish installing it said it couldn't be installed properly due to error 21. so after several times trying to get it to work I decided to restore.
but now it wont even restore cause the same error 21 keeps coming up. once I clicked restore it looks like its about to finish but then the error comes up then stops, now my phone is stuck with the itunes logo with the usb
cant get onto my phone at all and cant restore it dont know what to do, can someone help me out please or if anyone else had this problem could they advise me what they done
I got the device on craigslist and it worked, I tried to restore and it gave me this error and it won't let me restore. Not sure if it was ever Jail broken in the past. Last I looked at the about info, it said version 3.1.3, I think. I tried to restore it like 6 times already. I tried researching it but I can only find solutions for 3G, does anyone know if this can be fixed for iPhone 3Gs for good where I can restore future updates.
I have a 3Gs phone with new bootrom...whenever i try to restore to 3.1.3 using itunes i get error 3014. I have tried using on different computers on itunes 9.2 and 9.0 but still same error.
I'm trying to restore my 3GS so I can eventually sell it, but it's not wanting to.When I try to restore through iTunes, it freezes at "Restoring iPhone software", and the phone just shows the Apple logo with a progress bar that's stuck.
I rebooted my Macbook, reinstalled iTunes, did a hard reset on the phone, tried it from DFU mode, and I don't know what else to try.It had the unjailbroken 4.0GM installed on it if that makes any difference.
There is this 2G iPhone that is (almost?) bricked.
As far as I know, the phone did work until recently, was not dropped, but suddenly got stuck at this screen:
The owner is not computer savvy, and is unsure whether the firmware has been updated (by chance or not).
Right now the phone is stuck at the "Restore needed" screen. What have I done so far: Put it in DFU, iTunes finds is, and tells me it needs to be restored; I have downloaded the 1.1.4, 2.2, and 3.1.2 firmwares for the 2G; I have tried to SHIFT+RESTORE many times, and every single time it ends up giving me error 23.
I tried all of the above-mentioned firmwares, have tried with iTunes 9.0.3, 8.2 and 7.5 MANY times - with the same result: Error 23.
There is something interesting: when I tap the "i" on the screen, it shows a windows that says: IMEI: Unknown, and ICCID: Unknown
I have searched online for a whole day now, and people say that this is related to a hardware problem with the modem; others said that it could be fixed by flashing w/ older firmware and older iTunes version - both of which I have tried.
So bottom line is that after all I have tried I am still nowhere. And ideas what else I could try?
I had my iphone 3gs on charge and it turnd off and went to the screen were u see the usb and iTunes logo to connect it. so i connect it to my laptop and it says thta it needs to be restored so i click on restore and it makes me download a large file. then it says its starting to restore, all goes well untill half way done and then i eather get an error message ( 14 ) or error message ( 9 ) i have tryd three diffrent laptops and 5 diffrent connection leads, and yet still getting the same error on all of them.
