BB Storm 9530/9500 :: Mass Storage Not Working - Uninstalled And Reinstalled DM 5.0
Sep 18, 2009
I have tried every option you can thinkg of. Nothing seems to work.
Encryption mode: None
Mass Storage Mode Support: On
Auto Enable Mass Storage When Connected: Yes
I have uninstalled and reinstalled DM 5.0. I have installed the USB and model drivers. Even tried to use the batch file thats floating around on the net with absolutely no results. It was working after I had installed .173 but when I reconnected again, it stopped working. Just like that.
My 1st 2 phones would show up in my computer as J & K drives. The 3rd was replaced because of this issue (after 1 hour on the phone w/ vz support & 2 hours w/ RIM) & the latest replacement still doesn't work. When I plug the phone in to any of 4 open usb ports on my pc it's instantly recognized by the device manager, and seen in BB desktop manager, but neither the device or the sd card can be seen in my computer. Mass storage is enabled & I have another storm in the family that works? Pulled the battery 158,000 times & uninstalled/reinstalled DM a few dozen times. Currently running 151. Previous phone had offical 148 loaded right out of the box from vz.
I cannot seem to get the mass storage to work on my storm 9500. I lost my usb cable originally supllied with my storm so i pruchased a new one from ebay, its not an offical BB cable, and im pretty sure its not a USB 2.0 cable.
I have set the correct options in the device i.e mass storage mode support on, auto enable mass storage, also tried it on prompt. when i connect my device i do not get the prompt for mass storage when set to prompt and i no longer get the blackberry 1 & 2 folders appearing in my computer. My question is does anyone know if this feature only works whith a usb 2.0 cable? it used to work i dont know if its the cable or problem with my device!
Mass storage mode for phone's memory isn't working for me. When I plug into my computer, I can see the SD card but not the phone. Mass Storage Mode is turned on. I tried different cables, rebooting phone and rebooting computer.
After installing the "official .151 mexican" My computer no longer recognizes the phone /memory card. YES I have set mass storage mode to on. It only DOSEN'T work on the CPU that I have the LEAKED 5.0 DM. Anybody know why / or what I need (drivers perhaps) to fix it? Also DM recognizes the device but will not Backup any information.
So I set MTP and my Mass Storage to yes and also auto enable to yes then I save it. I connect my blackberry to my computer but nothing pops up or anything I go to my computer but I don't find any blackberry icon or anything. Does anybody know why this is?
How do I get this to work? I want to be able to drag files from my desktop to the folders on my storm. I've enabled the mass storage mode on my storm, but nothing seems to change. I cannot locate the storm in "My Computers" when i plug it in.
When I was backing my files up with Desktop Manager, it required I go into Mass Storage Mode. Now that I did that i keep recieving SMS and Messages but they do not show up and I can't access Pandora and such either.
So I got a storm 6 weeks ago, and then my third on a week ago. The first two did fine but this one will not do it. I have tried everything, reinstall drivers, check settings, pull bat, change usb input. I don't know what to do please help.
I was just wondering if anyone else ever had this problem. I have been trying to get my Storm 9500 to go into mass storage mode, so I can add a couple of tunes onto it through my computer. But when I connect it to the computer nothing happens....I wen into Options > Memory > "Mass Storage Mode Support: ON" and "Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connection: Prompt" but nothing happens...
Does anyone have a fix to get windows 7 to show my Storm in mass storage mode? The transfer in Roxio media manager is slow as **** and since my new PC has windows 7 I have not been able to get it to show the device memory cards a drives that I can just copy and paste to.
It's time that BB and Verizon get their S*&T together and stop tossing out excuses for the reason as to why things don't work. Take the time you would to write the excuse and come up with a patch or fix to the problems.
I've just had my Blackberry Storm repaired and software upgraded by Vodafone here in the UK and now the usb mass storage connectivity no longer works when connected to my PC(s). I am running Ubuntu Linux 8.04 and 9.04 on two different PCs. Previously when I connected my Blackberry to either PC the phone prompted me to connect to the PC and everything went smothly and the phone appeared as removeable media on the PC and I could drag n drop files to and from the phone and PC.NOW... when I plug the phone into the PC usb I no longer get the prompt to connect to the PC and so I have no connection. If I query the usb bus on the PC it tells me that there is a device present and it is logged as follows:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0fca:8001 Research In Motion, Ltd.So it appears that the phone is recognised by the PC (either one, when connectd) but the Phone does not initiate usb communication to enable it to be set up as a removeable media device by the computer.Any one any ideas or have encountered the same problem. This is very frustrating as I can no longer transfer music or pictures to and from the phone - one of the reasons I got the phone in the first place. The phone is on contract from Vodafone UK and has an 8gb micro sd card installed.I have spoken to Vodafone UK but they say they don't officially support Linux so they cant help. Nice eh seeing as they take my money for my phone contract every month. The problem as I see it is not the computer operating system as the mass storage worked prior to the phone upgrade and it is now not working as a MTP mass storage device as it used to, so the fault seems to be in the phone software. I am pretty sure this is the issue as when I used to connect to my Windows PC it just worked as a mass storage device requiring no special software to be installed on the PC. Now when I plug it in it asks for the driver software via add new hardware wizard, which it never used to need.
I have upgraded my phone software and my maps (paid subscription) dissapeared. I had backed up my phone to memory card before upgrading software and restored settings from my card after upgrade. Called the Nokia help desk and the only advice they could give me was to take to Nokia Care Centre which I did. They reinstalled software again and an older version of Maps (i was running 3.0). I cannnot update, map updater tells me there is new software but both buttons "Cancel" and "Download" are inactive on my PC. I have tried this from differernt PC's , I have uninstalled and reinstalled but nothing. Nokia don't want to know, they just put there head in the sand and repeat the same things over and over. I see others have had similar problems, why do we always get the same response from Nokia??
My maps that Nokia reinstalled no longer has voice guidance (and yes i have downloaded again) and my license dissapeared. Do you think Nokia wold supply a free license...no way, I had to purchase another block (one month only this time). This is rubbish Nokia, sort out your inability to satisfy customers with good customer service. Oh, one more thing, if you are going to locate your help desks in the cheapest possible location, at least train your staff to speak english properly!!
I have purchased the Dataviz MS Word/Excel and PDF software, Premium. In the blurb there is clear support offered for .xlsx and other four letter file types for both Word and Excel. However, when attempting to import an Excel file using Mass Storage mode, well within the limits of the 8GB memory chip, I can transfer an .xls file but never an .xlsx.That I have reported to Dataviz, but, really, it seems to be a problem with the Blackberry.Has anyone come across this and have they a cure?
i have decided that i dont use the flickr, facebook or Internet apps enough to warrant keeping them on my phone. i have deleted the apps through dm but the icons are still there. anyone know how to delete the icons all together?
How do I get rid of uninstalled apps on the "my World" list? Also I have 3 apps that have been in the "starting download" phase for approx 4 days now. I cannot stop them or delete them from the list to try over. Any ideas on how to get these to stop or even actually start??
Got Blackberry Storm, had it for about a month, kept turning off randomly, particularly when texting...one day turned off, showed teh snowy screen from the TV, then told me there was an error...sent it for repairs, got wiped, got firmware upgrade, now i cannot connect to computer. running xp sp2 was connecting before upgrade...uninstalled USB porst, reinstalled. pc sats error code 10 device cannot start... no diea whats wrong...please advise...all i want to do is access the thing through windows explorer...
I have a Storm and recently upgraded to the 5.0 operating system. Prior to this, when I connected my BlackBerry to my computer, it would see it whether Mass Storage Mode was enabled or not. This was critical for my usage as I subscribe to the Rhapsody music service. One of the features of the service allows me to transfer whatever music I want to my smartphone without having to buy each track (it's called Rhapsody To Go). The service would not work if mass storage mode was enabled. However my computer, and the Rhapsody software would still see the Storm when Mass Storage Mode was not enabled. Since the upgrade, neither the computer nor the Rhapsody software can see the phone when Mass Storage Mode is not enabled. I've contacted Rhapsody and they have no solution. Verizon is the carrier which packaged these two systems together but they have no solution either.
So this is my mother's storm. It is using the Verizon 5.0 version 328. I recently uninstalled BB Messenger and installed google talk. Now when I click on the sms icon I receive that java error message. I can send sms messages using the address book, but cannot view any incoming sms messages. A battery pull did not help.
I performed a search for this prior to posting (and looked through the manual) but did not find anything on the subject. Is there a way to mass-delete messages on the 9530? In other words, delete all messages within a specific folder?
First thing I'd like to know about my Storm is, is it possible to move multiple files at once? Meaning, I'd like to 'clean out' my camera folder, and sort all the pics I have into different folders. But, what I'm finding is that I have to select one pic, hit menu, scroll and hit move, find the folder....takes A LONG TIME, 'cause I have ALOT of pics to move. Is there any way to move multiple pics at once? Make sense?
