BB Curve :: USB Automatically Disconnects From PCOct 16, 2009
I bought a used blackberry 8320. I wanted to upgrade the OS on it, so I installed BB Desktop Software 4.5, installed the BB8320m latest OS from blackberry.com (18.104.22.1684) to my PC, connected my phone to the PC via the USB cable and tried to update the OS, during the update, my phone automatically disconnected a couple of times when the setup said "Waiting for device to initialize". After that it went till "Loading system software... Module rim.bb...." stage, and then the phone disconnected from USB and BB Desktop Software displayed an error "A fatal error occured during update...". At this point my device showed Error 561 with a Windows 3.0 like window with a triangle, square and a circle in it. I read online that this can be fixed by wiping the phone using Jl_Cmder. I did that, then it displayead "507" on the display.
Now, I am told that I can "easily" fix this by just loading the OS on the device. But whenever I try to load the OS, the phone disconnects automatically during setup. It seems to be happening at the same stage.
I later realized that if I connect the device to the PC and just leave it, it STILL disconnects randomly, almost every 2 minutes!!!
How do I fix this? I want to install an OS on my blackberry. I've tried this on two different machines, on different ports, and with + without the battery.
