I have a Blackberry Curve 8520, just bought it 2 weeks ago, in the U.A.E and i got the message today while trying to update my software. Half Way thru the update, it stopped and said it couldnt update me, then once i disconnected the smart phone i received the error message in a blank white screen saying "Reload Software: 507 error" I have a Macbook Pro.
My nephew is visiting me for the summer and he has a Blackberry 8530. Tonight the screen went white and there is an error message stating: reload software 513. There is also a rectangular symbol with a circle around it and a line through it.I have never had a Blackberry so I am at a loss. I was surfing around and I have found conflicting information. I am going to download the Blackberry desktop software onto my computer and my instinct is telling me to download software V.188.8.131.529 (his sister has this on her Blackberry). Additionally, they neglected to bring a data cord for their phones, however the one I have for my Palm Pre seems to fit - do you think it'll work or should I buy a new one?
I accidentally dropped my Blackberry Curve 8520 on the floor and the battery fell out. Now when it tries to restart it gets about two thirds of the way through and then comes up with the message Reload Software 507. I have tried connecting it to my laptop but that doesn't work.
I just downloaded the new OS when I plugged my phone to the computer... it sounded like a good idea to upgrade everything but I do not like how the UNlock function is only through the mute button now. I mean, if I wanted to just lock/unlock my phone that way with the push of only one button, I could use the standby (mute) button and press on it again to unlock it before. I really liked the previous version where you had to take the extra step of pushing two buttons (A and Send) to unlock it. Because I unlock my phone by accident a lot when it's in my purse and I reach for something and accidentally press the top button (mute button). Any ideas if Blackberry is planning on a new OS version soon that would restore the old locking/unlocking system? I do not necessarily want to downgrade to a previous OS version but I might have to as the "easy" one-button only unlocking option is not working for me.
I updated my phone the other day with the v184.108.40.2064 OS. It wiped out everything. I had to go back and restore my contacts, reload ringtones and apps, etc. Got everything back the way it was now.
I have three email accounts synced to it. All are active, Wi-fi on, network on. New mail isn't showing up on my handset, only from my gmail account, the hotmails aren't showing up. Used to be you could look in the folder for each email account and see what emails were there, then there was one folder that showed all of them. What am I missing?
I've upgraded from my original OS to 220.127.116.111 (i think) at the start of the year with no problems. Two days ago I attempted the upgrade to .681 which was fine, but I'm not keen on the update as the UMA isn't working properly, so I want to downgrade.
So last night I managed to get back to the original OS 4.? (I was having probs with a straight forward downgrade to another OS5) and tried to upgrade to the Vodafone Italy (I'm on Orange UK) but it wasn't being recognised with the Desktop Blackberry software (vendor file was deleted), although when I went into the upgrade part on the app loader, it did appear there, but with an asterisk saying I had to be registered with Blackberry to be eligible for the upgrade (or something like that). I attempted the upgrade but the software wouldn't allow it.
I removed that software and tried with the Wind release, but again the desk top software didn't recognise it.I tried the .681 release again and the upgrade worked fine
I would really like to go back to a stable OS where the UMA works. Any ideas how to do it with the Vodafone Italy release? Or am I being blocked somehow as I'm registered to Orange UK? If so does anyone have a link to download another earlier release that is stable and not carrier associated?
My Berry isnt stolen and I have used it problem free for a while. I started to use a password yesterday. Woke up today....and have a white screen with JVM 513 reset. I can do nothing to change it. Dont know how to download anything etc etc as I can do nothing to get out of here.
When I use my browser to get to Gmail or Blogger, I have to sign in. So, I enter my username and password, but the Enter key doesn't work to load the page up. Nor does it work when I use the tracker to click on "sign in". Nothing happens so I can't access these sites. If I go to another website, for example, Google.com, enter my text and click the Enter key, it loads and shows me my results. Links seem to work on other websites too. Wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem and have a suggestion?
For the last few hours when using an app or the browser I keep getting Gateway time out errors. I've done a couple of battery pulls and sent my service books but still happening. If I close my browser and re open it it will work again but maybe ten minutes later will happen several times. Anybody else have this issue and if so how did you fix it?
Okay, I've been at this for a few hours now, and I'm at wits end.I absolutely cannot upgrade from OS 4.6 to 5.0
I have tried the desktop software about a million times, it keeps saying no updates available. I've tried using the app loader. Nothing. I've tried downloading the specific 5.0 software for AT&T BB Curve 8520. App loader says it is incompatible with the device.
I have tried following this: How to Install or Upgrade to a New RIM BlackBerry Operating System (OS) with AppLoader | CrackBerry.com .Still did not help.
I have also tried doing it OTA style. The damn thing says there's no updates available on this either.I've been reading through just about every OS 5 thread I could get my hands on and nothing has made this process work.
Basically ever since I updated my blackberry and I downloaded opera mini my browser isn't working. I click it multiple times and nothing happens I deleted opera mini off my phone hoping that my browser will work but still nothing.
After installing the new update .508 my vibrate is not working properly. My SMS messages, emails and calls still vibrate but my BBM does not. It was working until I downloaded the newest OS on thursday.
Well i was just wondering if anyone can help me.. I have a blackberry 8520 curve and i want to update the phone software to the v.5.0. Its currently got v.4. When i go to the blackberry site & find the software & click update it opens blackberry desktop manager and then starts to do some searching. Then it says to choose which software i want to install but only gives me the option of the software i have already on the phone or to downgrade my boyfriend has the same phone and i tried it on his yesterday and it worked saying he could install v.5.0.. im thinking i should just take it back to the shop & get them to update it,
I am trying to set up a 2nd email address on my Curve 8520. I currently have 1 gmail set up. I had a 2nd awhile back, but deleted it when I didn't need it any longer. Now I have another that I need to set up, but every time I go to the email setup wizard, I get this error message:The site cannot be accessed in this manner. Please use the URL or link provided to you by your service provider. What in the world? Please help! I use T-Mobile, if that's needed information.
For some reason, I can't receive emails on my @sprint.blackberry.net account. My Yahoo, AOL and Gmail work just fine. I signed up for a BB address on my phone's browser. When I try to log in on my desktop, it says my device is not accessible and I must visit the website on my phone. I have tried sending emails TO my phone and sending emails FROM my phone. Neither one works.
Running BB OS 4.6. I'm on my THIRD 8520 now, all previous handsets bombed out and froze with that godawful 'Restore Software: Error 552 ' No amount of visits or calls to Blackberry Support helped and the phone OS couldn't be reset. What a pain in the *bleep* not to mention data and software loss. The ONLY common factor was Opera Mini 5 , which sometimes froze, unable to exit. So a soft or hard reset (battery out) Then wait and wait and wait Then blank screen then Restore Software: Error 552. Still not sure if it's an Opera Mini issue or general out of memory issue. And there's no easy goddam way to kill a running process without a battery reset.
I updated my 8530 to OS 18.104.22.1682. It messed up my contacts birthdays on the calendar again (just like every update ive downloaded since i got my phone), but besides that I thought everything was fine. But then, After using it for a few days, I've occassionally been unable to hear anything during calls. It works most of the time, but occassionally, when someone calls me and i pick up; it says "Connected", I don't hear anything. Same with vice versa, when I call them, it says "Connected" and I dont hear anything.
I have the BB 8520 with AT&T and they, of course, haven't released version 5.0 for whatever reason. So if I install one of the leaked or official (if there is one) versions, will everything still work smoothly? And where can I find the most recent 8520 OS 5 file? And where on this site are the instructions for manually installing OS versions?
After doing a few battery pulls its still not working.I've done some searching now for about an hour and comming up empty handed. I have a friend with an 8520 Curve from I-Wireless. After a couple days of using it his trackpad stopped. Now to me from reading it seem that most problems lie with the 8520 series and also seems that its a software issue as a batt pull will fix it for abit. Will updating to os 5.0 beta fix this problem or does the problem lie elsewhere?
I have a blacberry working with Orange France. I had an error message when I pulled out the battery (App Error 523, reset" ). So I send the firmware 8520M_PBr5.0.0_rel661_PL22.214.171.124_A126.96.36.1991.exe, and he could start.
However, when I put my sim card (working on my nokia) , it doesn't work (invalid). I've asked for an unlock code, but when I enter it, the BB freeze (I always have 10 tries). I've tried with another simcard (Orange, SFR...) and the result is the same.
I know this is not a major problem, however, it is one that has totally confused me. When someone sends me a text I have always had the option of either clearing the chat or deleting the chat. After the most recent update using my Blackberry desktop the deleting the chat option is no longer listed. What could have possibly happened?
I have several confounding issues. My new Curve 8530 will not boot. Nothing appears on the screen. The only thing it does is flash the red LED indicator once and then 4 quick consecutive times. In searching the forum, suggestions say to run apploader. However, I get stuck because my device can never be recognized by my computer!I was installing a factory update over the air. I cancelled the download because I thought doing it over Desktop Manager would be much faster. I connected the device via USB (for the first time ever). Drivers were recognized and were being installed. After a while, nothing happened with the device OR the computer. Now I have a brick of a phone that only blinks the LED at me. The device cannot be detected by my computer when I run apploader directly or through Desktop Manager. Yes, I have also tried fiddling with the Connection Options in DM.
AI have look around the Forum and have found nothing that will help with the situation at hand.. I decided to do a Wireless Software update on my Blackberry 8530 (Sprint) and as the process began it came to a halt. The overall Restore Progress is stuck at 1% and the Current Database: BBGroups is stuck at 69%. I figured that I would take some time so I ran this update before going to bed last night, Well 9 hrs later and we are still stuck at the same progress. I tried to do a battery pull and that didnt do much, The device reset and automatically restarted the update freezing at the same exact place. There is no option to cancel the update and it will not allow me to even access my BB home page.
THIS UPDATE IS SHOCKING! What were blackberry thinking? Does anybody know how i can get back to my old version? I mean you cant even lock your keypad with this update, thats how bad it is! Any help would be much appreciated.
I currently have a BlackBerry Curve and has been working fine for a while now, but over the last 2 hours i cant send or recieve txt messages! If i try and make a call i get ''Supplementary service error: General error''. I couldnt find much about this on Google except a hard battery pull while the phone was on, which i tried but still no luck. Anyone got any idea's for me to resolve this issue ? I'm also getting 'Phone not allowed MM#5' when i try an emergency call.
