BB Curve 8300 :: 8320 How To Sync Contacts From PC?
Mar 12, 2009
I just bought this 8320 and I have no clue on how to sync my contacts from my pc? Also how do u change your backround? And I have wifi in my house and i cannot conect with it? It has a password, but i cannot get connected to give the password for the wifi to be used on my phone. So far I'am frustrsted. Someone please help. I have switched from the iphone, and so far this seems complicated to me. I'm sure it will get easier as time goes by. Also can we record a sound and make it a ringtone? Or is there an app we can down load to accomplish this?
I got a new BB 8320 curve, but having trouble with syncing contacts in my outlook. I can input Chinese in both outlook and blackberry and they look fine. However, after sync, all Chinese characters are changed to '?'. This applies to both from BB to outlook and from outlook to BB. I am using the Desktop manager 4.5.
Made a very big mistake while syncing my Curve 8320 and lost ALL my contacts. I have more than one Blackberry connected onto BB desktop software and mind you that both phones have different contacts on them. I only backed up one of them prior to today and I had the option of syncing all my known contacts from my computer onto whatever phone that would be plugged in turned on. So basically I did not make a backup copy of my Curve 8320 and whatever contacts I have for my other BB has overwritten what was on it. Is there any way to recovery those lost contacts?!
I am new to this forum and I am really hoping someone can help me. When I synch my 8320 all items from my Outlook calendar synch except for the ones that I enter myself. I can see them on Outlook but they don't show up on my BlackBerry.
I am also having a problem sync my new Blackberry Curve 8310. I previously had a Palm Treo 650. I was finally able to sync the contacts from my Palm to my Blackberry. I am assuming just like the Palm Treo software I can also view the contacts on my desktop, but I have not been able to view the contacts on the Blackberry Desktop Manager software. Where do I view this information, that I might have downloaded, there is now tab for the software that allows me to manager my contacts and my calender.
I use Outlook express for my emails is there any way I can make the Outlook Express the primary software on my desktop for managing my contacts and my calender and being able to sync to my Blackberry.
I just got my 8330 Curve and it will not sync with my Windows Contacts. I am running Vista. When I configured it I selected Windows Address book. The log says: User has canceled translation operation. Translation Canceled . I tried turning off my Norton Anti-Virus with no success.
I cannot get resolved and would greatly appreciate any help on. Me and my husband switched Computers, when I plug my BB into the USB cable it will not sync with my Contacts in Outlook or the Calander. It says that no programs are assoiciated with the Device. When I go into set those up in the Blackberry Desktop it only shows Outlook express in the Drop down menu for Calender and Contacts and will not allow me to select Outlook because it does not even offer it as a option. I have reinstalled BB desktop and that has not helped. I do not even use Outlook Express however there is a Folder in my Progam Files that says outlook express and it has about 8 files in it. But I do not have it installed and do not use it for My Mail or Contacts. Details. OS = Windows XP Blackberry = 8330 Blackberry Desktop Manager Version = 4.3 EMail Client = Microsoft Outlook
I deleted my personal contacts category in MS outlook. When I sync my 8330 outlook wants to delete my personal entries in my blackberry contacts. I used devise overwrites outlook in the conflicts panel but I keep getting the same message. I am afraid to accept the chages as I don't want to lose my blackberry personal contacts. I am using v18.104.22.168 software and v4.7 desktop .
I own a 8700 series BB and am having trouble with the sync operation to MS outlook. We use MS outlook at our office (on desktop computers) for primary email, contacts, and calendar organization. We have a small network on a central server. I have no problem(s) in syncing my desktop compuer's MS outlook data to the BB handheld. My issue/question: I'm on the road and type in a new contact into my BB handheld. I get back to the office an sync my BB handheld to my desktop computer (MS outlook). When syncing is finished, the new contact that I previsouly entered in my BB handheld does not show up in my desktop computer's MS outlook contacts folder? I can't seem to find a way to sync data entries made in my BB handheld to be sent to my desktop computer (MS outlook)...specifically the "Contacts" folder?
I just inherited a Curve 8320 and am trying to install Desktop Manager on my Dell Inspiron laptop.I downloaded all the software, but when I tried to install Desktop Manager, I got this message: Before you begin, verify that your current Blackberry device is connected to your computer.Easy enough, I plug it in via the USB. The BB gets a pop-up: USB charging current is not sufficient. Verify that your handheld is connected to a powered USB charging source and that the proper USB driver is installed.
The BB is fully charged, so it's not a charging issue. I tried everything. Downloading the driver separately (get a message it's already installed), unplugging all other devices. Nothing works. I cannot get beyond that message with Desktop Manager.
I've had my 8320 Pale Gold edition BB Curve for some months now. During a vacation, perhaps after dropping the phone, I am unable to hear/talk when making a call. I can use all other features however, and the odd part is that the larger speaker works fine when playing MP3s, though silent when calls are put on speakerphone. What could be the problem and the solution?
I just got the blackberry 8320 online about two weeks ago. I have gotten t mobile to unlock the blackberry 8320 so i can use it on AT&T. The phone turns off when i receive or make a call. The phone turns off about one minute into a call. After the phone restarts; the red led turns on and then the loading cursor shows up. The person who trys to call me, when the phone shuts off, will not be listed under recent calls.
I have no e-mail icon (the little envelope with the red arrow on it). I've only owned the phone for a week. I hit the menu button and selected the "Show All" option and 2 faded icons appeared - 'Compose' and 'Saved Messages'. I got the balckberry e-mail all set up thru my cellular carrier, but I don't see the app on my phone to set it up.
My bb''s camera is not working it shows the following: "COULD NOT START CAMERA. CLOSE OTHER APPLICATIONS AND TRY OPENING THE CAMERA AGAIN." What could I do?? I updated the bb with my laptop, but no success. I own a curve 8320.
i have a 4gig mirco SD card. i use it on my blackberry 8320. this morning, i was listening to music on it. everything worked fine. till, during one of my songs, the blackberry frose. after like 5 minutes of me pressing buttons, nothing happened (it was still frosen). Thus, i took out the battery and restarted it. after i restarted it, the phone started to work again. BUT it wont read my sd card. like none of my music will show up. i went to options>media card> and it says at the bottom "a media card is not presently inserted in the device". i took out my card and put it in my brothers blackberry and it worked fine. and i also put my brothers SD card in my blackberry, and that card didnt work either. i spent the last 2 hours on the net trying to find some answers, but no luck.
I have an 8320 Curve and my emails are automatically checked and synced with my POP account on my PC. I'm with Orange here in the UK.My problem is that SOME (not all) emails do not come through to my phone. They arrive in my Inbox successfully but not to my 8320. It's difficult for me to say exactly which emails do and don't appear on my phone so I am somewhat bewildered.
I hope someone can assist me to getting these errant emails come through to the phone. I read in another thread that it might be worth refreshing the registration and service books but when I tried the process I got an error message at the registering process, it may be the solution but maybe somebody could confirm that for me.
I bought a used blackberry 8320. I wanted to upgrade the OS on it, so I installed BB Desktop Software 4.5, installed the BB8320m latest OS from blackberry.com (22.214.171.1244) to my PC, connected my phone to the PC via the USB cable and tried to update the OS, during the update, my phone automatically disconnected a couple of times when the setup said "Waiting for device to initialize". After that it went till "Loading system software... Module rim.bb...." stage, and then the phone disconnected from USB and BB Desktop Software displayed an error "A fatal error occured during update...". At this point my device showed Error 561 with a Windows 3.0 like window with a triangle, square and a circle in it. I read online that this can be fixed by wiping the phone using Jl_Cmder. I did that, then it displayead "507" on the display.
Now, I am told that I can "easily" fix this by just loading the OS on the device. But whenever I try to load the OS, the phone disconnects automatically during setup. It seems to be happening at the same stage.I later realized that if I connect the device to the PC and just leave it, it STILL disconnects randomly, almost every 2 minutes..How do I fix this? I want to install an OS on my blackberry.I've tried this on two different machines, on different ports, and with + without the battery.
What is the deal with all the themes for the 8320 when it comes to switching on WiFi/UMA mode? There are only a few themes that I've found so far that I like but none of them show the signal strength bar when the phone is switched to WiFi/UMA, it's very annoying! If I select a theme that comes with the phone, it works! When are people going to update their themes to work correctly with WiFi/UMA phones so that we can see our signal bar strength?
My first T-mobile curve went back 1 day later. During that time it rebooted itself 50 times. Obviously defective. The second one did not reboot, but the right side button was almost impossible to push. Sent it back and got a warranty exchange. The third curve works well 95% of the time. But, a couple of times a week, it will reboot itself during a phone call. It does not do this any other time (unlike curve number 1). This is extremely annoying. I had high hopes that the new operating system would fix it, but no such luck. It still does it. Searching for "curve reboot call" on google gets a LOT of hits. So, it is clear that I am not alone in this. I have read everything that I can find on the various forums, but no one seems to have a definitive cause or cure. I have tried removing the memory card, reformatting the memory card, replacing the SIM, rebooting the device manually, obsessively checking the free memory (no problem there, I have 20 or so free), swapping the battery, etc, etc... and it still does it.
It seems to always happen in the first minute of the call. It happens while connected to EDGE and to UMA. I am not going to downgrade and/or wipe the device since there are ample messages from people who have tried this and I have yet to hear that it worked. Plus, it was doing it before the OS upgrade so I have no reason to suspect this.I called T-mobile and they claim that they have never heard of such a thing, which is doubtful. This weekend, I reformatted the memory card again. Next time it reboots, I will call and ask for curve number 4.
I just got a new Curve 8320. I have two questions. One is I accidentally somehow deleted the alarm clock on the new Curve, and I desperately need it, any way to get it back? Also, I want to transfer my pictures and songs from my old Pearl to my new Curve, but I only use Mac's. Is there a good program I can download for free in order to this?
I'm thinking of buying an unlocked BB8320 in UK and use it in Denmark. Is it possible to add danish as an input language to the phone? My wireless service provider is not on the "BlackBerry Desktop and Device Software Download Sites" list, in fact no danish service provider is on the list.I know that I won't be able to use the BIS in Denmark since my service provider doesn't support Blackberry.
The the camera does not zoom when using scroll button or any other control that I can determine, including the volume controls. It used to work but now it suddenlt stopped so I suspect there was an inadvertant change to a setting, but I can not find directions to change.
