BB Bold 9000 :: Setting Up Email Filters With Level 1 Notification
Sep 3, 2009
I'm trying to set up a filter that will send me an email with level 1 notification which will deliver the message in RED and also use a different ringtone than normal emails. I went into the message options and under filters I created the filter, but when the email comes through, it still comes with normal notification. Am I missing something here?
The new problem is that I'm not getting email today. I am getting EDGE connection only and was able to access the Internet but tested an email in and out and it didn't deliver either way. Last email that came in was around 2:10 a.m., almost nine hours ago. Is this an AT&T matter or something going on with the BB?
Old problems: I have a yellow globe type icon with the number "2" in front to the right of the email indicator. What is this? How do I access it and delete it? Also email indicator shows "1" new message even when there are no new messages.
I am running .216 for a couple of weeks now and I just started to notice the red asterisk that signals a new message stays on my homescreen even though I checked all new messages.
I noticed it says I have 2 message (tiny envelope icon) on the homescreen but I cannot find any messages that I haven't opened?I don't think it's a theme problem - I just downloaded a new one the other night. Also, I did notice it's taking longer a few minutes to receive new emails from my Exchanger server (2007) using BIS. We are migrating over from 2003.
Today in the office we set up a microsoft exchange and OWA, nothing to big or fancy but we have a server etc. Now I logged into my BIS site, set up my email entering my own details and putting in our OWA details.. The email works fine, but it takes about 15 minutes for the emails to come through to the blackberry.. i thought that this was only with POP3 and if it ran off an exchange it would be near instant?
I have recently purchased a used Bold 9000 and am trying to set up an email account. On the setup screen in the Setup Wizard there is only one option instead of the 2 I'm supposed to have. The only option listed is to set up a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server and I want to set up a personal email account.
I've installed the latest software (.162) and everything seemed okay, but there is a new e-mail notification (no LED flashing however) and there is no e-mail in the inbox!Could this be a hotmail issue, until now it had worked flawless.
I have gone to my school and to AT&T, but nobody can tell me how to successfully set up my college email on my Bold.
It is one of those email@example.com accounts, but when I use the email setup and try to add it it always tells me "we were unable to configure". The email server is run through exchange labs, and I can access it through hotmail or windows live.
I'm setting up my work email on my Bold for the first time. I set up my Gmail and Hotmail on my Bold with no problems, so I'd figure it'd be the same for the my work. I never realized that I don't have a password for my work - or maybe I do, but I don't know what it is. haha. I just turn my work computer on, open up and Outlook and voila. So where do I find out my password? And how do I find out my work POP3 information?
There is only a work email account set up option on my new device - Bold 9000. So, I cannot set up my personal email account. I have access to internet through 3G and GPRS and these services are working fine. I have data subscription plan with my provider and actually with the same sim number that I am using now on my Bold 9000 I could set up my personal email accounts on my former mobile phone - HTC. What could be the proble? How can I solve it? By the way, in my country there is no carrier who supports the Blackberry service. Can it be the problem?
I have checked all emails that have been sent to me. There are no unopened emails, text messages or voicemail but there is an envelope icon on the device desktop indicating that there is an email waiting and unopened. What do I need to do?
I had 1 new email notification, which is now 2 new emails, however when I look in my email inboxes I do not have any new emails.I also checked my email options to make sure that I did not filter or hide any and I did not. Does anyone how to find these new emails or how I can fix the issue?
I've gone through a few threads but didn't see what I was hoping to find. Is it possible to have a custom alert setup based on the email subject or parts thereof. For example if I get an e-mail with the subject phrase:
"Critical Alert: switch XXX down" Can I associate a custom profile to it? The problem is that the "XXX" is dynamic.
My BlackBerry 8330m was receiving all emails just fine for the 3 email accounts I linked it to through BIS until I tried setting up filters to keep all the Amazon.com discussion emails from going to it. Now, I'm not getting any new emails.
Emails I send to the device's address are going through fine. Emails I send from the device to the other synced accounts are going through fine and being picked up by the BlackBerry. But all other emails sent from other sources (including the ones I send to myself from anywhere other than the BlackBerry as a test) are not being synced to the BlackBerry device. I've just deleted the filters, but as of right now, they are still not going through to the BlackBerry.
Do I need to delete the email accounts from BIS and recreate them to get things working again?
I received both my personal email and enterprise email on my Blackberry. Currently the messages icon is a combination of the 2 accounts, while I have an independent icon for the internet email account. How can I create an icon that will only contain my enterprise email account?
Using BB Enterprise Server, and when I delete unread emails such as (delivery/read notification) they are not deleted from my Device even with Reconsile now nothing happen, I have to delete them again from the device. Is there a work around or what.
I have a problem where the email notification icon is incorrectly showing that I have one unread message. The search for unread messages results in no matches yet the icon remains. It started soon after I opened and closed about 10 messages in quick succession to remove their unread status so I think it may have got confused. I have reloaded the firmware (v18.104.22.168) and this resolved the issue for about eight hours and then it started again.
Is it possible to turn off the small yellow new email notification on the upper region of the front screen? I don't want to stop network transmition, interrupt BIS forwarding, or set up the firewall as I want messages to come in. Is there a way to turn off only this specific notification sign?
Ok, so I've searched and haven't found what I am looking for... if any of you use Gmail with the plugin on your BB maybe you can help.
1- I can recieve/send from my BB but in the Gmail folder on my BB (the envelope with a globe thingy) I only see what I recieve. Is there a way to see everything like with my hotmail, yahoo and BB accounts?
2- How do I set up filters to recieve only personal emails using the BIS website? I entered the add filters and selected not to push emails exception Personal and didn't recieve anything.
Prior to the GB update there was an option to trigger a Notification Sound only on receipt of the first email. Upon receipt of subsequent emails, the phone would remain silent. I cannot find a similar setting in GB.
This is my first post on this site, so I hope I have put my request in the right location. My company has supplied myself a Blackberry Bold 9000, and naturally I use it for a lot of non-work stuff!
When listening to music, I'm finding that the volume increases whenever you go to the next track. This is very annoying, as I am forever getting blasted with noise, and having to decrease the volume on the phone.
My BB 9000 finds my home wi-fi network, but I don't seem to be connected. I'm using BES. My IT guy has worked through our office server settings with BB tech support, and they say that wi-fi access isn't blocked at the server level. My own long conversation with another tech support person led nowhere.
Here are the symptoms:
- If I turn off my wireless connection (AT&T), when I launch the browser I get a message telling me to turn the radio on -- i.e., no wi-fi connection.
- The BB's icons don't appear the way I think they should when you're connected to wi-fi. The wi-fi icon on the home screen is gray, not white—which according to my user's guide means that "Your connection to a Wi-Fi network is turned on, but you are not in a Wi-Fi coverage area." (I've got some screen shots but I can't figure out how to attach them.) (Yes, my home wi-fi network is fully operational, and the security is set properly at both ends. Also, I found the same difficulties trying to connect to an open wi-fi elsewhere.)
- On the menu you get when pressing the menu key in "manage connections," my home wi-fi connection is identified, but there's a white dash next to it instead of a green checkmark. That
- The connection seemed to work when I was running BIS before my office got BES: Rhe home-page icon was white, and the browser seemed to work much faster (subjective, I know -- hard to tell for sure).
I would like to create a filter based on a sender. Reading the help available on the device, it tells me to select options that just aren't on the menus. Form instance, it tells me to In a message list, highlight an email message.Click the trackwheel.Click Filter Sender or Filter Subject.Type a name for the email message filter.Set the email message filter options.Click the trackwheel.Click Save. When I do the item 2, pressing the trackwheel, it opens the message. Instead, if I press the meny key (the one with the BB symbol), I get the following options:
