I've searched the forums to no avail. I'm looking for a way to delete the default internet browser bookmarks (i.e. Links, MEdia Net Quick Links, etc...). I haven't seen much on this regarding the Bold. However, I have come across some suggestions for other BBs (Curve, Pearl) that suggest that deleting the bookmarks is all but impossible and that the best we can do is merely hide the folders.
Not only do I find it hard to believe that we can't at least manually delete the bookmarks (if not via BB handset), but I tried to hide various folders. It doesn't work. When I highlight a folder I want to hide, I hit the menu button and select "Hide", but all that happens in the browser closes and take me back to my home-screen.What is THAT about?! Weird. Anyway, does anyone have any information to the contrary (as far as being SOL with regards to actually deleting the files)? Or perhaps another way od hiding them at the very least? Any info would be greatly appreciated!
I ran a search "how to edit browser bookmarks" but got nothing that answered my question.I know how to move or delete bookmarks from within the browser, however, I was wondering whether there is an easier way to do this? Maybe using the Desktop Manager? I want to reorganize my bookmarks but it is very cumbersome to use the menu commands in the browser.
I also found that I am unable to delete or move some of the original bookmarks that came with the browser, ie: the "home page" bookmark or the bookmarks in the "links" folder. And what the heck do I need a "links" folder for, anyway?
I had "NYT Bits" (a "browser channel") installed on my Bold, but I deleted it as I found out I won't be using it. However, after I reset my Bold, I found that it had returned. Is there a way to permanently delete it?
I've had phones and BB's since they have started making them. I downloaded Opera after seeing that Bolt is still a work in progress. I feel like an *****, I can't bookmark a page. Doing the obvious thing, going to a site, and than in the menu going to add bookmark. Nada. Does anyone know if there is a secret to this, or better yet, tell me what I'm doing wrong.
I am trying to stay away from apps that might slow/screw up the Blackberry. Maybe I shouldn't be avoiding them but.I use the internet alot to find the information I want at my fingertips like stock ticker and current weather. But instead of opening the browser, stopping it from trying to load the home page I have set and them scrolling through the crappy book marks menu is there a way i can put an icon on the menu for the items I want 1 touch away?
Is there a way to edit or delete the Blackberry Browser bookmarks? I would like to transfer my 75 or so bookmarks from my Palm Treo Pro to my Blackberry. I have them saved on the SD card in my Verizon 8330, but can't see a way to move them to the phone itself and combine/organize them.
How do I move my bookmarks from my BlackBerry browser to my PC browser - firefox, chrome? My bookmarks are already arranged in folder on my BlackBerry browser. Is there a technique, tool or app for this?
How do you delete Bookmarks I have saved? I have opened bookmarks under internet globe icon, then highlighted a bookmark. Then clicked BB menu key scrolling for a Delete button and none is there. Next I clicked on the bookmark I want to delete and scrolled again for a delete and non exists. So how do you get to delete a bookmark?
After having upgraded my device to Symbian Anna, it doesn't seem to be possible to start the browser in the bookmarks screen any longer (unlike the previous useful setting). I'm not interested in loading any "homepage" automatically (that simply doesn't fit my Internet access patterns - I typically access one of a few pages and it's more efficient to use bookmarks to go to the right page directly in that case). I understand that I can choose empty page - that doesn't enforce unwanted data traffic nor loading time for useless pages (as opposed to a default homepage scenario), but it still requires two more clicks to get to bookmarks.
I have tried in vain to try and import bookmarks into the Android Stock browser. I have tried various apps such as CMarks, XMarks and others but with no luck. Yes I have Dolphon Browser and Friefox but would like to use the Android Stock broswer for bookmaks.. I have heard some somes have the impoting of boomarks disabled on the stock browser, is this true for the xperia pro?
Looking for a free Internet bookmarks-shortcuts service similar to 'Google Bookmarks' or 'My.opera.com Link', which is accessible by any simple mobile WAP-browser.I am on Fido's so-called "unlimited mobile web browsing" and restricted to only WAP, but not data.
The bookmarks with ICS appear as tiny, hard-to-read icons with tiny, hard-to-read text on my Razr Maxx. I can't find a way to change the bookmarks from icons to pure text so that they are recognizable and usable. Seems like one of many features that is much worse with ICS than it was with GB. Is there a way to have the bookmarks appear as text-only? As an aside, is it only me, or is ICS a disappointment, with little to offer that makes learning a new OS worth the aggravation?
I can't delete them on the E90, but the first time I sync'd with my work PC using PC Suite, it deleted them all - hooray. But then when I sync'd with my home PC it put them all back again! Now I can't get rid of them at all, even though I've deleted them on both PCs.Does anyone know how to get rid of them permanently?
Last time I did the software update to my 3G iPhone, all my bookmarks in Safari (on the phone) were deleted. I was very unhappy about that, so I've been hesitant to do the latest update, because I don't want it to happen again.
Is there some way to back up Safari bookmarks, so I can put them back on again if they're lost? I'm very hesitant about syncing/updating things, since I always manage to lose lots of stuff on the phone whenever I try to do something
K850i after a couple days of using it, it would start to loose its little icons like on the Internet browser bookmarks and those little icons next to application. Also any pictures taken with the phone camera would not open under file manager. Once the phone is restarted it's back to normal and the pictures can be viewed. I though this might of been a bug on the k850i (as it was full of bugs) But this has been happening to my C905 as well.
Is there a secret to deleting these? My search comes up with no solutions. Any ideas? I can delete the ones I make, but not the ones that come preloaded. Also, I'm on a mac computer so DM is not an option nor is.
I purchased a ROGERS 9700 no contract to replace my work phone. The company policy is that no mobile devices may have any method of interenet browsing. The 9700 will not network browse unless you have a blackberry data plan and I only have the personal email plan so that works well. The problem I have is that the wifi browser still works and even when I delete the wifi browser in the service books, it just comes back when I do a battery pull. How do I permanently get rid of the wifi browser without connecting to a BES? (the company does not have a BES) -hiding the icon is not sufficient.
Thank you J Sanders. Sounds like something that will work. Pardon my ignorance though, where will i find version 5.0.0 for my 9700? -when i look it up on the Blackberry site and enter my PIN (a ROGERS device) they don't show an available OS for the 9700 yet.I can't get it off the device can I? I guess really what i need to know is how to "Install your current OS on your BlackBerry device to your PC"?
